Sedef Adasï joins us for the very first instalment of our new podcast series. We’re inviting fabric artists, special guests, and rising talent alike to curate a specialist guest mix for us, dropping a new exclusive every few weeks – watch this space.  

HAMAM Nights founder and newly appointed Panorama Bar resident Sedef Adasï handles our inaugural edition, delivering a solid 60 minutes featuring tracks from Luke Vibert, Gerome Sportelli, Isaiah, Friedrich Ernstwith, DJ DISRESPECT and more, with an unreleased tune in there too.

Turkish born, Germany-based DJ Sedef Adasï is a genre-hopping specialist; known to blend anything from tough, psychedelic acid, accelerated techno, rough house and glistening, warping electro. Her mix for us, expertly glides through a rich selection of the above – readying us for her very first appearance – of many, we hope – in our main room next month.

Marcel Dettmann: Electro

After a busy few weeks having plenty of festival fun, our podcast is back and rolling with self-certified 'rave mom' Partok next up. He's played standout sets at Glastonbury and Panorama Bar this summer and still regularly returns home to Israel to play all-night-long sets. It is there, as a resident at the Tel Aviv club The Block that he first made an impression many years ago. Since then his endless explorations of all forms of techno have earned him an international following. 

Partok brings his own distinctive party sound to our series this week with an electrifying mix of peak-time fun. He packs plenty in, too, dextrously switching up the mood as he weaves through evocative and emotional sounds that aren't afraid of a tender melody or soulful vocal, but are always powered by crisp drums. From banging grooves and brain-frying synth textures to psychedelic loops and hands-in-the-air piano chords, it's a high-definition, big-hearted selection that leaves you feeling good.

When it comes to techno, electro, and more importantly Electroclash, few can argue The Hacker’s credentials. The Frenchman was instrumental in the formative years of these movements and being active since the mid-90s has meant his discography is positively bursting with pivotal moments from electronic music. It is nearly impossible to discuss The Hacker without mentioning Miss Kittin, with some of their work such as “Champagne” EP including seminal tracks “Frank Sinatra” and “!982”. This is of course only a small, but not very important part of The Hacker’s story. With a string of solo albums and countless EPs to his name, the cross-section of electronic music that The Hacker enjoys is wide. Andreas Baumecker launched his DJ career in the early 90s, a Frankfurt native coming of age in the halcyon days of his country’s reunification. His first stop was the city’s storied and centrally located Romantica, then its affiliate Intimbar where reps from house label Playhouse picked him up for buying duties at record store Delirium. After an uptick in local bookings, he made a brief stop in Mannheim for more of the same before moving to Berlin in 2004, where a recently opened Panorama Bar scouted him as resident and offered him the role of in-house booker for its Berghain operations. As word got out and the city started to draw larger crowds he became a fundamental force in crafting the club’s story. Hesitant to define the upstairs-downstairs split as house and techno, he practices his preachings through an approach that embraces a range of different sounds. ‘Surprise is important’ and his 25,000 strong vinyl collection lends a hand in the process, an assemblage that oscillates between disco, house, electro, techno, breakbeat and pop; the key is to capture the spirit of a crowd. This strategy has borne not only his label Freundinnen (put on hiatus in 2007, relaunched in 2023), but a lasting collaboration with sparring partner Sam Barker as half or Barker and Baumecker (four 12” records and two albums on his alma mater’s imprint Ostgut Ton to prove it). nd_baumecker deals in all things funky and uplifting, a thread of life-affirming melodies and historically literate beats that drive seamlessly forward. Bassiani Podcast 255 alludes to his well stocked portfolio of references, with hints of disco and balearic house, it's more of what his fans know and love to usher in the warmer months; this latest episode is full of spacey tenor, refreshing and gently rolling, breezy chill-out expertly compiled by this fabled German veteran.

Batumi-born, Berlin-based DJ/Producer Nicole has been instrumental in the evolution of Tbilisi’s role as axis for music and politics. Her earliest ventures in sonic creation saw her attend music school as a child and drum in a band, followed by a pivot into electronic music as half of teenage duo Body Thrills. It was 2018 that she truly emerged solo as a talent to watch on the Georgian scene, with a Boiler Room performance at Bassiani to celebrate its reopening following civilian protests against the government’s shutdown of cultural spaces. And with the threat of authoritarian ideology looming once more, her kind of energy is perhaps more important than ever. Nicole’s sound represents the best of what Georgia has to offer, a free and open enthusiasm for life where creativity reigns and anything is possible. Witty minimal with a generous measure of acid squelches and positive funk, these tunes are a mirror to the dancefloors she plays on. Her strength is in knowing her audience, which strings to pull and when, and that’s just as true of her other work, which now counts promotion duties at Tbilisi space Cafe Gallery and an EP on Marco Shuttle’s Eerie Records. This latest episode carries Tbilisi’s flame forward, a six-hour compilation that brings together her unique perspective as native to the city’s struggle, and her disparate musical references. Bassiani Podcast 275 is a knockout set from a top-notch local talent.
