One of my favorite tracks that I've produced, Mindphuck combines elements of both chiptune and dubstep. I actually based the entire song off of the intro passage to the song 'Bliss' by Muse (The sample is present in the song). I remember hearing that Matt Bellamy drew inspiration from the SNES' "Top Gear" when composing 'Bliss'. Bearing in mind the knowledge that Mr. Bellamy loved and appreciated chipmusic, I decided to add some beeping beeps and blippity blips on top of 'Bliss'...thus Mindphuck was born.

Before MJ’s death, the similarity between the credit music for Sonic 3 and Michael's "Stranger In Moscow" was regarded as conspiracy theory. Recently, information and interviews have been rising to the surface that support this story; Michael Jackson wrote music for Sega's flagship title, Sonic The Hedgehog 3.
Unfortunately, Michael Jackson was uncredited for his work. Due to a number of factors, Sega decided to remove his name from their title shortly before release. However, there wasn’t enough time to re-program the music, so the cartages for the Sega Gensis shipped with Michael’s original tunes.
When I learned about this, I immediately when searching for what the Sonic music would sound like with MJ’s vocals. I found a surprising number of “mashups”, but they were kind of weird, muddy, or out-of-sync. So I got in the studio and made this "remix" I’m happy to hear the vibe of both pieces seems to have been preserved.
All samples are from the Sega Genesis release of Sonic The Hedgehog 3 and the vocal track from Michael Jackson’s Stranger in Moscow. I discovered through compression, I was able to bring out the other instruments that were playing through Michael’s headphones during the recording session. Really amazing stuff.

I wanted to capture the mood of the original song in this remix, keeping it slow, moving, ethereal. Lots of audio filter and audio pan helped create the atmosphere. Mellow hip hop drums stacked with 8-bit equivalents keep the percussion feeling full, while maintaining a low-fi mood. The outro's sound was created by an automation bug, but I liked what the software was doing so I tweaked it a little and opted for a fade out.

The third volume in an on-going Chiptune journey. 

Started back in the summer of 2011, Chiptopia seeks to represent a time and place where music is flourishing. A variety of sounds, styles and formats, I imagine Chiptopia to be a place that supports music and art to the fullest. This mix takes the listener on a journey through such a place, crafting a feeling of moving from venue to venue, hearing the complimenting elements of each song and artist, ultimately painting a picture of a night out in a musical Utopia.

Chiptopia is influenced heavily by my experiences in Ithaca, New York, the place where I first began studying electronic music production and DJing.

Featuring music by Sabrepulse, Electric Children, Trey Frey, FantomenK, Fighter X, Bitshifter, Coova and little-scale, Ookami, Prom Wolf,  Roboctopus, Byzanite, Icarus Kid, Misfit Chris, Doomcloud, Inverse Phase, Teleidofusion, Je M'appelle, and Knife City, with additional samples from Skip Sandwich DX and Anamanaguchi

A second version is included, an edit intended for live performance and DJ sets. It has been time-stretched to exactly 135bpm (to compensate for the Gameboy's imperfect clock,) features a 16-bar "DJ Friendly" intro and outro, and it seamlessly loop-able. Totally rad!

I composed the main melody and arpeggio chords progression and Kenët did all the rest, especially the wonderfull leads :)

You probably heard this tune before in (lots off) keygen/warez menu, in hundred different versions on YouTube, but THIS ONE is the original, released in september 2001 in the Rebel's chipmusicdisk #1 (http://pouet.net/prod.php?which=3604).
