The mysterious talents Antenna shows their tough, high impact house sound for their second release on the Dutch Pinkman label. 
First up, Childhood is a mid tempo bit of elastic, groove driven house with whirring machines, raw synth patterns and filtered, muffled vocals. Hi hats add an incendiary element of pressure but really this one is all about the pinging, rubbery drums that flail like drunken limbs. 
When I Read My Book is another purposeful offering riddled with melody and deep drums, slapping claps and lots of jittery cow bells, impish synth sounds and bass kills that brings a real sense of energy to proceedings. Lastly, In August is a tripped out cut with skipping kick drums, celestial and heavenly, glassy melodies and skittish percussion that all glide along in alluring and off kilter fashion. This is house music, but not as you know it!

To be released in September together with a repress of PNKMN06 - Antenna - Odessa.

Girls of the Internet’s ethos has always been firmly rooted in anonymity - removing the identity of the producer, who often takes centre stage, and placing the typically anonymous vocalist, firmly at the front. It’s recently become no secret that the brains behind Girls’ is former RAMP Recordings A&R Tom Kerridge, a man who has always held a place for anonymity in his heart; from his love of Rammellzee and Leigh Bowery, interest in the Drag movement and the 90’s NY club kids, to his hand in launching the careers of faceless artists like Zomby and SBTRKT. For Tom there has always been a desire to create a pure artistic experience devoid of ego - and Girls of the Internet has been that very outlet since its creation.

"I made the album this spring during an intense creative period back home in Stockholm. I was obsessed with my studio, I wanted to spend all my time awake there. I found out I was getting evicted from it, this sudden chock turned into a decision to do this album. It made sense, like an "end of an era" thing. I was pretty isolated back then, spending almost all my time outside of the studio with my daughter Bozi. She snapped the cover photo while I was picking out records for a gig. I never wanted to leave the studio during these months, but I realise now how the breaks with Bozi worked for the process - they gave me space to reflect on the music I was making. A meeting of creative minds formed on mutual respect for each others output, Stan ‘Steam’ Smith and Inkswel connect as ‘Active Ingredients’. Inkswel an electronic music futurist gliding the boundaries between Hip Hop, House Music and Modern Beat culture and Stan Smith an MC who honed his skills in the golden era but has always looked forward with past works produced by Daz-I-Kue (Bugz in The Attic) and Soulparlor. The ‘Middle’ is a refreshing perspective, something that came natural, a collection of songs the team did together over a period of 6 months of sending each other vibes back and forth from Adelaide to Atlanta. With outerwordly cover art by the infamous Tokio Aoyama and remixes from broken beat legend Kaidi Tatham and Soul Of Sydney veteran Edseven, the ‘Middle’ encapsulates the forward thinking evolution of the Hip Hop inspired generation.
