Not entirely sure how to preface describing this one! It's really full of raw energy and emotion, straight from my heart. A lot of it was inspired after Symbiosis Gathering. Tried to just play from the heart, a real freestyle. Goes from prog tech house mish mash ending with more melodic trance style. It just flowed out! :) Enjoy...

This 2.22.2014 set was 1-2:30, following a tastefully reserved set from Joel Conway, leading up to Jeno.  Really nice warehouse spot with a lush vibe.  We we were going for tech house badassery with a generally rising arch.  We're pretty stoked on it, mixed a lotta old with new, heady with bumpy, oontz with bloOp.   It makes us poundy bounce and thought you might like these flavors.

Live at Fall Classic 2023

Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area Pwny feels lucky to be residing in SF in such a lush environment for electronic music culture.  In 2003 she started playing vinyl with the intention of mixing and DJing. She switched to CDJs in 2010 - vowing to never travel to the desert with records again - which was becoming a yearly phenomenon. Her favorite places to play are campouts and undergrounds! She’s usually found performing beloved 1x1 tag sets with her partner Dao.  A resident at Underground SF, she is part of team that throws a weekly Thursday  event called Bubble. Birds of a Feather 2024 was an intimate, invite-only, bird-themed hotel takeover weekend of music, art, dancing, and an array of bird-brained activities brought to life by a flock of artists and crews from the Bay Area and featuring DJs from Brass Tax, Space Cowboys, StrategiK, Red Hot Beverly, Garage Mahal, Angels of bAss, Duck Pond, Pink Mammoth and more. 

The other planners and I could not have been happier at how well it came together. It felt like an Old School Raver Reunion, and we all left with our little bird hearts full. Thank you to everyone who participated, from the Artists to the DJs to each and every participant who made our little patch of Sonoma County the place to be for this weekend of hilarity, amazing music and bird vibes.

This set was recorded live from the Main Stage Bird Ball on Saturday 4/20. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Ok, you're the DJ(s)...8:45am...the morning sun is shining, and a field of friends and family are reveling in the afterglow of a three hour dawn set by Thugfucker.  What do you play?  How do you follow that?  These are questions Dao & I were honored and privileged to answer more than hypothetically at the FnF summer campout 2012, only a few days ago.  We are proud to have spent  time and energy crafting this set.  (This is a re-creation, polished and pretty for you ;)  We wore kimonos.  We had a blast.  We're grateful and amazed and we're still glowing!  Kimono-a-go-go 4eva. ;-)  (please see timed comments for ALL track ID's, and support the artists!!)

Dao & Pwny - Morning with Friends & Family (1x1 tag)

Been spinning a long time, 29 years, more than half my life.  Have spun nearly every genre, have vacillated between taking this very seriously and not giving a fuck.  It is more than a hobby, this is integrating an artistic conversation spanning the globe and it is my passion.  This particular conversation we’ve been having in the Deep (house/tech/breaks) arena is particularly dope, and I’m excited to be a participant by spinning & producing that which moves my ass and soul, and raises my hands to the sky.  If asked, I'll say I spin Swamp music... humid Deep House/Breaks/Tech with vivid palates. &#13;

Mixing is my zen-state.  It isn’t an intentional act as much as it is communion with sound, with the muse.  I don’t plan Sets.  My mantra is the ‘right song at the right time’, and you’re never going to answer that question until you’re in the moment.  I kicked the vinyl habit in ‘05, but I still use CDJs..  You can hear the excitement in a live-mixed set, when there’s no net, when the DJ is a sneeze away from a trainwreck.  I like a slippery beat or two, to flash your cards, to show this is real, this is Now, and we’re deep in it, together.  I also only like to mix deep, 3 mins or so.  It isn’t deep music unless you mix it deep, over your head in sounds, dancing with them as if Tai Chi, rolling them into another as if an Akido master.  The tracks dictate how they want to be mixed, the moment dictates what energy wants to emerge next; a DJ isn’t there to be intentional, we’re supposed to be receptive.  You can hear the difference.&#13;
