February 2023 - GINGERKAT Mix

When I was a kid, I used to wake up with ink stains on my shirt from falling asleep writing so much poetry. Often I wouldn't know what exactly I would even be writing about until I felt like a piece was complete, and only after I read it all the way through did I know what I was trying to express.

I wasn't quite sure what Left of Exile meant to me at first, but looking back now I can tell it's about the story of how I've overcome loneliness and isolation in my life. I look back on these mixes and remember what was happening in the world at that time, as well as whatever I happen to be going through both good and bad.

I hope this marks a time in your life as well. I'm appreciative of going on this journey with you. Thank you for going on it with me 🙏🏽

4am is such a delicate timeslot; it crucially requiring engagement from a crowd growing tired, yet us also sensitive to overstimulation. This is a taste of how we do 4am. For this set, our vision adjectives were Tough, Techy, & Tickling.  I used a crop of older stuff from my coffer, Dao brought the new funk, and it turned into a fun time!
