Am 14. Oktober 2014 bringen die beiden Solinger Arndt Roerig und Marko Vidovic ihre neue EP in den Handel. Unter ihrem bekannten Pseudonym - Tube & Berger - erscheint die Kollektion “Entourage” auf ihrem Heimatlabel – Kittball Records. Die Zusammenstellung umfasst drei Werke, die sie in Kollaborationen mit Ante Perry, Paji und In.deed kreiert haben. Mit uns sprachen die DJs und Musikproduzenten über die Entstehungsgeschichte zur EP, wieso sie nach Releasen auf Labels wie Suara, Defected oder FFRR wieder auf Kittball veröffentlichen und stellen ihren Song “Reliquia”, der mit dem Aachener Paji entstand, als Stream-Premiere vor.

Hailed as “LA's best kept secret”, David “DAVI” Khanjian internationally acclaimed DJ, producer, radio host, and label owner grew up surrounded by the sounds of Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin. Deeply passionate about music since childhood, it didn't take long before he was admitted to the prestigious Komitas State Conservatory's music department in Yerevan, Armenia. But it wasn't until his move to Los Angeles that the magic truly began to unfold.

At the young age of 17, Davi began producing electronic dance music inspired by many world-class producers and DJjs like Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Danny Howells and 16 Bit Lolitas. Shortly thereafter he was the resident at the top electronic dance club in Armenia where his career began to unfold. 

With his move to Los Angeles in 2006, Davi dove right into the underground scene and locked himself in the studio for years to follow while playing at local Los Angeles clubs nights like Monday Night Social at Playhouse, Avalon, and Vanguard.

Davi’s countless hours in the studio opened many doors for him, first of which was remixing Robert Babiczs’ “Zero” anthem which was released on the new Treibstoff label at the time. Earning recognition from top DJs in the scene like John Digweed, Guy J, Nick Warren, and 16 Bit Lolitas; Davi began establishing a name for himself in the Los Angeles underground scene. 

Shortly thereafter in 2010 Davi became a resident DJ for Insomniac Events in Los Angeles, where he established his residency at Exchange LA and began playing Insomniac Festivals including twice at Escape from Wonderland opening for Richie Hawtin’s Enter stage. Since Davi’s connection with Insomniac, he has been sharing the decks with some of the top producers and DJ’s of our time including John Digweed, Sasha, Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Green Velvet, Art Department, James Zabiela and Hernan Cattaneo to name a few. 

Davi’s name can be found on multiple labels today including Rebellion, Anjunadeep, Treibstoff, Hope Recordings, and Baroque. After having attended Burning Man for over six years, Davi collectively put all his Rebel heart inspiration in the studio to create his first Crosstown Rebels EP in 2013 called “Two Suns in the Sky.” This was a tremendous boost to Davi’s career, which led him to begin touring worldwide in 2014 having visited London, Amsterdam, Israel, New Caledonia, Canada and all over the United States Miami, New York, Boston, and Las Vegas among others.  After Two Suns In the Sky, I wanted to release another similar EP with the same mystic vibe and harmonies, but I wanted the EP to be about something else,” DAVI explains. “As I might take a little  break from making Middle Eastern sounds, I wanted this one to be as special. The word ‘Babylon’ is used in a larger sense to describe the modern world, and the importance it places on wealth and power.”

Back on board Crosstown Rebel off­shoot Rebellion since his massive ‘Two Days In The Sky EP’ was released on the label late last year, LA based producer DAVI returns to deliver ‘The Gates of Babylon’. Never restricted by the boundaries of genre, the title track is highly mystifying as it resonates a distinct middle eastern tone through the infectious melody and layered atmosphere. The release also features the stunning ‘Eclipse’ which follows suit taking you on a deep melodic journey, filled with warm tones, vibrant strings and a solid bassline.

We feel PHCK's music has been heading towards us at All Day I Dream for a while. Lee Burridge was all about Aeris (on Connoisseur) and reached out to them to express his love of it. PH and CK (yes, it really is their initials) returned the love of our label and sent some amazing music shortly thereafter.

Not aimed at every DJ's dance floor these three tracks mark the beginning of a journey on our imprint for artists we believe in. We hope to release their debut album in 2018. In the meanwhile though as Autumn arrives we thought we'd ease you gently towards the shorter nights with three deeper shades of emotive house music. Put your headphones on and drift away,make a beautiful mix for your partner or your audience or, for those inline with our sound, play them out loud at your events. We hope you love them as much as we do.
