Discovering this gem many years later, it has many throwbacks to early times, euphoric days indeed. I miss Cheb so much. Taken way too soon. I had the pleasure of seeing him at club Sugar in So Cal, with Karsh, many times.

On Nov 6th, 2013 the world music community lost a prolific contributor and friend, Cheb i Sabbah. I had the pleasure of knowing him through DJing with him, as well as hiring him for several festivals...and of course listening and dancing to him for 20 years. This morning I spontaneously put this little mix together that includes many of the artists he worked with...thank you to my dear friend Gaudi ( https://soundcloud.com/gaudi) and his brief interview with Cheb I which became the intro to this mix.

It was recorded during the The Great Convergence, an amazing gathering held at the pyramids of Giza. The event was conceived by Tamer El-Shakhs and  produced by the excellent production team at The Do Lab, (thank you all!!)
