mixedAtmidnight - is a music creator and producer dedicated to creating quality music. mixedAtmidnight favours dance and house music blending timeless styles such as funk, disco, neosoul, soul, gospel, 80s and 90s pop, and jazz into new and fresh sounds. Remixes of classic, rare and unusual tracks are a signature of mixedAtmidnight.

History:  mixedAtmidnight (aka Rod Singleton) is an Australian based synth player, originally seen live in arguably Melbourne's 1st Chicago House cover band performing house, funk covers and original material in the 1990's in and around the infamous King Street night club scene.

I mix vintage groovy tunes (mostly from about 1975-1985) with a selection of newer tracks. Sometimes I use modern edits of vintage tracks. Varying tempos and genres, but always soulful.

Gilbert Le Funk is a DJ, musician and record producer.
 
Starting to compose at the age of 11, he got into music production in the late 90s, greatly influenced by the eurodance and house music of Paul Van Dyk, Bob Sinclar, Armand Van Helden, or ATB. Though later he would spend the day listening to more diverse music, from Stravinsky to Casiopea, Incognito or Frank Zappa, which lead him to learn to play electric bass and trumpet as well as setting up is own studio, where he would first work as a musical arranger for other artists.

In 2005 he was moving away from acid jazz and his label La Musique Fantastique was born, starting his Gilbert Le Funk project by making remixes for labels Delecto (CAN), Catch 22 (NYC) or Transport (SF) as well as playing some of the biggest soulful house music acts all over Spain. In 2006 he produced “Work It Out” for DJ Disciple, a track that would mark a before and after in his career, making him responsible for one of the underground hymns during that year. Later, his remix of "L.A. Girls" was premiered by Dimitri From Paris and used on the MTV series "The Hills". In 2008, "Afrikantastique" got licensed by Defected and Subliminal and it wasn't long until he became a major player in the house scene. 

A solid string of releases have followed since then, topping the charts "All About the 90s", "Something", "New Dawn" or the more recent "Wanna Be Free", taking him to tour the world as a DJ, playing venues from the US to Costa Rica, Russia or UAE.

DJ Master Said is always looking for perfection when it come to mix tracks flawlessly, avoiding "easy" beats on beats mixing and looking for melody, harmony and creativity in the mix which can take a lot of time for preparation/realization. You may notice that some of the tracks in the sets are edited to avoid unnecessary repetitive parts and some have an added beat to give it more energy...

DJ Master Saïd entered the world of DJing in 1978 with his then best friend, Marco Capitani, in the middle of the disco era...In the summer of 1983 he entered the Club Mediterannée, the French corporation of vacation resorts, as a teacher of computer programming/gaming (on Atari) and that's where he got the name "Master Saïd". Spending all his nights at the discotheque he soon switched his job to DJ and the name remained...
Till 1990 he performed around sunny and snowy Europe and Africa (Dakar) seven nights a week ! He then lived for 2 years in Marrakech, spinning records at The Byblos and The Diamant Noir...
It was then time to settle down and he then became a records shop manager back home in Brussels. 
He now mix at home with Traktor and his computer or on his two Denon SC5000 Prime for his own pleasure and the one to share it all around the world thanks to the web.

He now work in a Hi-Fi shop in Brussels
