Andy is passionate about House Music. This story of music and Mix begins at the end of the 80s with the arrival of electronic music (New Wave, New Beat, House From Chicago) in the most Belgian Underground Clubs of the time (Fifty Five, Odéon, At The Villa, Boccaccio Life)
For over twenty years, he has been playing the most avant-garde and festive music.
Andy Leenoy arrived in London in 1990 to stay there for ten years on English territory. It was there that he frequented the various clubs of the English capital (Ministry of sound, The London Fabrik, The Who's Club, The Fridges, Camden Palace ...). This is how he was able to draw inspiration from the currents of electronic music, which he influenced in these sets where we find a mixed and captivating music.

Welcome to the 15th label release for @PuzzleProjectsMusic brought to us by French 🇫🇷 producer @FunkeeSoundsMusic.

FunkeeSounds is fast becoming a force to be reckoned with as he returns to PuzzleProjectsMusic for his third outing. The Frenchman has a penchant for 70s soul vocals, developed through his love of disco, soul, and funk from years gone by. This brings a timeless quality to his productions as he channels the golden era through today’s technology to produce authentic contemporary electronic funk for the heads who’ll truly feel it. 

His latest EP begins with ‘City Lights’ (PPM0026), another funk-fuelled adventure. This time FunkeeSounds picks up the pace a little, cultivating a rich, warm atmosphere which is amplified by another excellent vocal performance. The drums skip along with a jaunty pace, while strings and delicate chimes amplify the breezy, summertime feel. Not to mention the irresistible bassline that keeps things grooving throughout. The production provides the perfect backdrop for the vocals to do their work, exuding positive energy from start to finish. 

On the flip, we have ‘I Feel Good’ (PPM0027), a seriously groovy number with organic-sounding percussion complementing the sultry twang of the guitar-driven bass accompanied by glistening keys. FunkeeSounds builds the atmosphere carefully, with subtle progression and perfectly placed filters to add an extra boost of energy at optimum moments.  To top it all off, we get delectable vocals that add a wonderfully uplifting edge to the track and transport you to a smoky basement lounge somewhere deep in the city.

Duo-Tone Productions have teamed up with Sense of Sound Singers once again to produce the brand new club Disco single ‘Show Me’ wgich will be out on March 12th.

The release will also feature this remix courtesy of London duo Qwestlife, the cross-european collaborative project from Tom Layore and Andy Williams. The pair are dedicated to crafting authentic and heartfelt Disco using old-school methods. They have poured their retro infused dance energy into ‘Show Me’ to create the perfect track for the Disco dancefloor.

‘Show Me’ dives even deeper into clubland than their previous release with a powerful electro beat meeting the fun uplifting vocals of Sense of Sound Singers. Amber Kuti takes the lead this time round bringing a smooth yet forceful vocal versatility to the track. By 24 Amber had already performed at Abbey Road Studios, The Royal Opera House, countless festivals and featured on the Black Panther soundtrack. With her captivating vocals combined with the track’s upbeat energy, ‘Show Me’ carries an infectious party atmosphere.

Liverpool based record label Duo-Tone initially made a name for themselves with a series of club nights in the city before evolving into the label dynamic with a series of eclectic mix of House, Electronic and Nu-Disco releases. They have now expanded beyond this format and built an in-house production team releasing their own tracks  together with their favourite DJs and vocalists under the name of Duo-Tone Productions. Recent collaborations with vocalist Tori Cross, Defected Records’ Glitterbox DJ Natasha Kitty Katt and GRAMMY nominated K-Klass have received consistent Upfront Charts placement and nationwide support from BBC Introducing and more.

Sense of Sound Singers is an award winning collective of phenomenal vocalists, renowned for their thrilling live performances, nationally and internationally. Their incredible talent has led them to becoming the resident singers for CREAM CLASSICAL as well as backing the likes of Paloma Faith, Damon Albarn and Nile Rodgers & Chic. Their recording career began with a Gospel Choir cover for Blossoms which has reached nearly 400,000 Spotify streams, followed by a reworking of the Aly-Us classic ‘Follow Me’, which was featured on the Midnight Riot ‘Take Me To Church’ compilation when remixed by Swedish DJ OPOLOPO. Their first original release paired the thick Disco beats of Duo-Tone Productions with the collective's soulful vocal power, led by manager and creative director Jennifer John.

When I heard the song "Die Tänzerin" – a German pop song by Ulla Meinecke and Edo Zanki –  on the radio for the first time, it felt like a warm storm: the lyrics, Ullas voice, the unique sound of the Yamaha GS-1 synthesizer and thestripped down and unpolishedlive-vibe of the one-take recording from 1983 was just overwhelming. Right the next day I went to the studio, took some samples, played with the vocals, added some drums andother elements.

It didn't work out since I wanted to do a typical edit and everything I did to the vocal parts just sounded wrong.

Maybe a vocal remix will be a project for the future... Since then, I worked on my instrumental remix every once in a while for over a year.
