I've taken all of the Mardi Gras Anthems from my hometown of New Orleans and brought them into the modern day age of house music. Had so much fun producing new instruments and sounds into these tracks as well as enhancing samples from the originals. Big thanks to the artists that originally put out these nostalgic anthems, I hope to unite a city and a culture I hold dear, this year and for years to come at the greatest party on earth, Mardi Gras.

On 17 August 24, I competed in YourShot 24, the world's biggest aspiring DJ competition, and brought the Honourable Mention Award at the end of the competition (New South Wales States - Group 2).

As a finalist, we had to prepare our best set within 25 minutes. Inspired by my party time when I used to live in Barcelona, I brought a mixture of Tribal House and Circuit House for the competition, where I captured Latin & Dance Songs induced by energetic percussions. I hoped to deliver Fiesta time to your ears. Enjoy!

My discovery of Circuit/Tribal House was traced back to 2014 when I went to the Circuit Festival in Barcelona for the first time. I loved the element of induced percussion and the Latin atmosphere. That Latin vibe was the closest remedy to what I missed back home (in Indonesia). When I migrated to Australia in 2011 and started my life from zero, there was a missing element that had to do with spontaneity, like an impromptu dinner, dancing on the street, random party at friends of friends, and the more the merrier invitation. 

Every time I listen to Circuit/Tribal House, I feel those nostalgic moments of warmness. I was lucky that I could discover this genre further when I lived in Barcelona for a year back in 2017.  So, this set is about the abovementioned: vocals of camp-pop songs, percussions, and that spontaneity feeling. The more the merrier darling! You are all invited! Happy listening!

Flamingeaux was raised in New Orleans, but the DJ was born in Miami. When the sounds of electronic dance music entered his ears, and he experienced the energy that a great house music set can bring to a crowd, he was hooked. Through his love of the music and the gathering that ensues, Flamingeaux has developed a style of Djing that gathers electronic dance music into a unique ensemble that drives a crowd crazy, keeps them wondering what's coming next, and leaves them begging for more. His turntablism focuses more on the blending of songs and transitions in between as well as the emotions evoked by simple lyrics. This new unique style of a mastermind DJ will take you by surprise, and leave you with a love for the music, the crowd, the energy, and the movement dance music has bequeathed upon the world.
