"Before joining up with the Starjunk crew, Jetta was spending her weekends with the infamous Shuffle crew known as Invasion Funk Style. Together they rocked dance floors and owned the competition. Hearing all the different types of dance music and having to outperform any competition on the fly is where Jetta really found her groove (no pun intended) and for a time she was seen as one of the best shufflers in the world. Specializing in the Melbourne Shuffle, she eventually took her skills, knowledge, and expertise with her as she joined the Starjunk 95. It's been years since she last visited her old stomping grounds (again, no pun intended) but today she's going back - and not just to visit old friends and reminisce... She's going back to The Groove District - a unique area where Electronic music and neon lights coincide to create a special kind of energy in the air. Back in the day you could always find a party or rave, and while there's still events going on here, all raves, light shows, and dance battles have been banned. 

Who put this ban of expression in place? None other than the Rokkaku Group - an ultra-wealthy corporate conglomerate that's been working hand in hand with the police force and government to try and take over various parts of the city. Rumor has it that they have a development plan called "Agenda X" that's aimed at removing various forms of expression while simultaneously building up their private developments. It's speculated that this is all to expand their future business dealings or to gain more control over society -  either way everything about it is shady as ****. 

That's where Jetta comes in. This was her home away from home. It was the place that helped make her who she is today, and she'll be damned if what was an exciting, magical place of expression and groove gets turned into a sterile, corporate nightmare. Regardless of what happens, she's here to tear up the Groove District once again  - and any and all challengers and welcome for a battle.

When will we learn more of the Starjunk story? When will we meet the other crew members? Only time will tell. Until next time...

On a hot summer night in Oman,  Funk D took to the stage at a popular music festival, ready to bring the crowd to its feet with their high-energy performance. As the opening notes of Michael Jackson's "They Don't Care About Us" filled the air, the audience erupted into cheers, ready to dance the night away.

But De La Noise and Funk D weren't content to simply play a straight cover of the classic track. Instead, they decided to shake things up and bring something new to the table by mashing it up with Joel Corry and Da Hool's hit "The Parade." The result was a vibrant and electrifying performance that had the entire crowd moving and singing along.

As the mashup reached its climax, the energy in the venue reached a fever pitch, with festival-goers dancing and jumping along to the beat. By the time the final notes faded away, the crowd was on its feet, demanding more.

Thanks to the overwhelming response from the crowd, De La Noise and [Your Name] have decided to release a free download of their mashup for all their fans to enjoy. So if you weren't lucky enough to catch their performance in Oman, don't worry – you can still get a taste of the action by downloading the track and turning up the volume.

Nene H (@nenetreat) launches her own label UMAY (@umay_works), aimed at representing SWANA and QTBIPOC artists. Inaugurated by Munich based trans activist BASHKKA (@bashkka), the EP titled 'Maktub' (Arabic for ”it's written”) materializes the artist's solo debut, and its trail blazes for queer club bangers. As BASHKKA states, ”Maktub is an idiosyncratic love letter to myself, my heritage and my community. My songs reflect the expedition of the past year and a half up until now and all the emotions that I gave myself space and fortitude to deal with and to also to relish in''.

BASHKKA, trained singer and songwriter, was born in Munich, but came of age amid the New York Ballroom scene, which offered a different kind of family to the traditional Turkish one she grew up in. This dichotomy has been equally important in shaping BASHKKA’s identity as an artist—and is echoed throughout her solo debut which blends uptempo dance floor music with Kurdish vocal samples, alongside a Chicago-influenced bounce house piece featuring BASHKKA’s own vocals. The artwork by Copenhagen based Noah Umur Kanber complements these influences impressively, taking inspiration from Sumerian mythology and the non-binary goddesses Ishtar and Ereshkigal which can be seen in the motif. It's these two figures that BASHKKA has found most interesting in reflecting on her inner conflicts in regards to her personal history. Ishtar as the goddess of love and sexuality and Ereshkigal, representing the underworld. That is why BASHKKA’s debut EP turns out to be an intensely personal project, a love letter towards her foremost defining influences: her Turkish heritage and the queer community. She says, ”my sound hasn’t been as much of a thought through process and rather an echo of feelings passing through different margins, styles and all underrepresented communities..”

Textured with squelchy tones, uplifting piano motifs and groovy melodies invite the audience to explore the intense soundscapes. The Acid Mix elevates the composition to new heights with the driving 303 acid bassline which intensifies the track's allure. On remix duties Vitess offers driving beats that shift it into a peak time pulsating banger. Whilst Tour-Maubourg delivers a funk infused, harmony-driven cut.
