The EP opens with the title track 'Drivetonik', a brand-new production that sets the tone: raw, rolling and built to move bodies. A straight-up Hardgroove banger, it's Bailey at his most focused. All momentum, no compromise. What follows is a rare treat for longtime heads: three classic tracks, originally released on the legendary Primate Recordings, now freshly remastered for 2025. 'Hustler' brings the bounce with its infectious and instantly effective sound. 'Karma' leans into tribal rhythms and percussive layering, while 'Konverter' cuts through with synth stabs and vocal chops, offering a punchy, streamlined ride through early-2000s funk. To close things out, Swedish Hardgroove legend Hertz steps in to rework 'Konverter', injecting his signature style into a remix that's as crisp as it is driving, a perfect fusion of old-school grit and modern precision.

With each release, Backspin Records continues its mission to rediscover, revive, and redefine the foundations of 2000s groove-driven techno. With the 'Drivetonik' EP, Marco Bailey shows us why his legacy remains firmly embedded in the genre's foundation.

Os presentamos el Impuls Podcast nº 26, en esta ocasión contamos con Pärdo.

Pärdo, nacido en Palencia y residente en Madrid, inició su relación con la música desde pequeño tocando distintos instrumentos, pero fue en 2019 cuando se adentró de lleno en la electrónica. Inspirado por referentes como Luke Slater, Oscar Mulero, Rødhåd y DVS1, ha construido un estilo propio que combina contundencia, precisión y un enfoque purista del techno.

Sus primeros pasos como DJ se dieron en Salamanca, con una propuesta marcada por un techno contundente y dinámico. Rápidamente se expandió por Castilla y León, donde empezó a consolidar un sonido reconocible. Su estancia en Bélgica y sus viajes frecuentes a Berlín y Ámsterdam marcaron un punto de inflexión en su carrera: allí reformuló sus influencias y desarrolló un enfoque más profundo e hipnótico, orientado hacia la esencia del techno en su forma más atemporal.

En los últimos años, Pärdo ha actuado en salas como Lab the Club (Madrid), MÕSS Club (Valladolid), The Jungle Dancefloor (León) o BeFriday (Salamanca), compartiendo cabina con artistas de la nueva generación internacional como Grace Dahl o DJ Swisherman.

Además de su actividad como DJ, Pärdo ha dado un paso adelante en la producción musical. Actualmente trabaja en su primer proyecto propio, que verá la luz próximamente y que refleja de forma clara la evolución y madurez de su propuesta artística. Con un estilo que oscila entre lo crudo y lo hipnótico, Pärdo se perfila como un talento emergente a seguir dentro de la escena techno nacional.

Recently Goncalo has had releases on the world’s premier Techno labels."
