_The Artist:

VKY aka Victoria Pardell is a Brazilian DJ and music producer who started her career in 2015 by playing at small and midsize parties in Brazil.

In 2018, the DJ was involved in the electronic music scene in France and performed in some of the most emblematic clubs and festivals in Paris, such as La Mano, No Entry (Big Mamma), Glass(Quixotic Projects), Le Mellotron Radio, Le Maquereaux, Les Flingueurs, Fete de La Musique 2018, Bastille Day 2018, Gay Pride 2018, among others. 

Since the end of 2019, the DJ has lived and worked in Lisbon and has played at several parties and venues such as Village Underground, Le Baron, Amor Records, East Side Radio, Pilantragi, Casa Pau Brasil, Anjos 70, Crew Hassan, Desordem, among others. In addition to producing her own events in warehouses and venues around the city. Victoria is also one of our label's founders, DJ, artistic curator, producer, and creative mind behind all the Tropicana Record's projects.

Currently, the artist prepares her performances and remixes inﬂuenced by genres like Brazilian Folk Music, Disco House, Tropical Disco & Brazilian Boogies. In her sets, you can enjoy live mashups, remixes, and Funky Reworks.

After a string of sought-after releases on labels like Barefoot Beats, Cocada Music, Bongo Synth and Too Slow To Disco, Bernardo Pinheiro brings his seasoned production skills to Onda Boa.

A man at home working in a myriad of styles, the third release on the label sees Pinheiro assemble The Amazon Orchestra to create a brilliant cover of the Marcos Valle / Azymuth jazz dance classic, “Virabrequim”. Diggers of Brazilian wax and jazz-funk aficionados will know the tune from the O Fabuloso Fittipaldi OST that first united Marcos Valle and Azymuth in 1973.

Pinheiro’s updated disco version maintains the original track's swinging piano, propulsive bassline and soaring horn charts while pushing the material into the future, earning high praise from the man like Marcos Valle himself. Live bass, keys, guitar and brass bring an organic sound to Pinheiro’s stylish production, creating a euphoric take that's ready to elevate any house, disco or jazz dance set.

Voilaaa’s remix sees the French maestro pull back the reins a bit, stripping things down before reassembling the elements in a way that allows each section to shine in a supremely funky way. With the third release on the label, Onda Boa has cemented their sound, one which honors the iconic Brazilian originators while charting their own unique course to a cosmitropical future.

What is this?
 
The egg boxes fastened to the studio walls tried to isolate the music being made inside. But they couldn’t. The pulsing strength of what was produced there materialized, became autonomous, and now it's in your hands.
However, in order to get here DJ Guga de Castro invited another DJ, Doido, a ska guitarist - Mário Rocha, and many other friends to make su Iracema Hot Sound happen. It’s a kaleidoscope of hot, dancing, exciting rhythms.
In addition to the sensations the record produces, one can say that the esthetic binding chains have been broken. This also means enough freedom to write a Carnival song! Or to seize Pará’s tecnobrega and make it communicate with an accordion. Or still to recreate a house-carimbó (Compositor da Ralé), paying tribute to one of its icons, Master Verequete.
The record is completed by reinterpretations of Fortaleza, remembering classic characters from the local nightlife and shops, in addition to Cego Oliveira’s presence controlling the beats, one of the most important violin players and popular poets from Ceará. But don’t waste your time reading this. Put the record on!

Crossing one frontier after another, forming a collection of sounds and exploring distinct sonorities that represents a piece of every place is not an easy task. 
And yet it is what DJ Guga de Castro has been doing for the past fifteen years. Promoting a revolution on dance floors all over the country by mixing samba, soul, bossa, groove, carimbo, guitarrada, tecnobrega, latin music and street sounds on a electronic set. 
Guga has been sharing the pick-ups with his friend DJ Rodrigo Fuser on the brazilian/global party call " Farra na Casa Alheia", that happens on Iracema Beach, in Fortaleza, northeast of Brazil, for about 8 years!
