Born out of a lockdown night when their usual Saturday night plans were off limits, Defected regular Darius Syrossian and South Records boss George Smeddles decided to cook something up for the anticipated return to the club. With just a vocal to work with, they decided to produce something with the 90s, uplifting vibe dancefloors would be needing. Demonstrating the same addictive, dancefloor-ready grooves seen on their previous collabs like ‘Get Toast’ and ‘Blood Orange’, this latest joint venture once again delivers the heat. With its deep organ bassline, playful keys and irresistible 4/4 swing, this record oozes club appeal in a way you can only expect from producers rooted firmly in the scene. Italian duo Len Vitz and Charlie Iapicone debut on Hot Creations with ‘Playhouse’, backed by a remix from  Cologne favourite Kolter.  

Featuring as two young talents rising from the Italian house scene, Len Vitz and Charlie Iapicone are gearing up  for their biggest release to date following a series of EPs across recent years. Joining forces for the first time to  rework Ann Peebles’ 1972 soul hit ‘I’m Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down’, they debut on Hot Creations with their  collaboration ‘Playhouse’ - backed by a stellar remix from Cologne-based DJ/producer and label boss, Kolter. 

“The EP was born by chance, an experiment which turned out successful. It’s a mixture of sounds and  recordings accompanied by a taste of vintage soul music.” - Len Vitz.  

Harnessing the original production’s resonant vocals and funk-fuelled riffs, ‘Playhouse’ brings a 70’s classic to  modern dancefloors as slick drums and slinking bass grooves reveal a track made for memorable moments. On  the flip, Kolter’s remix brings an additional slice of vigour and energy as he utilises signature chords and skippy  percussion to shape up proceedings.

Establishing himself as one of the key residents at one of the biggest parties of the year 'Abode", a party built around its residents and their love for house and techno, he goes by the name of GW Harrison and George was always destined to be a DJ. His father played a vital part in the booming nineties UK rave scene and being surrounded by a household of music GW willingly took to the decks aged just 12 and picked up his first DJ residency in a club, aged 13.

This year has been an extremely successful year and has seen GW Harrison nominated by Darius Syrossian in the 2016 Emerging Artist category. The popular Abode @ Sankeys Ibiza became his local hang out, along with other Abode residents and George went on to secure bookings for the final year of Space Ibiza, hosting GW Harrison & Friends..With the summer of 2016 now being a distant memory, George has gone on to announce show, including Printworks, Annie Mac’s Lost and Found Festival, Elrow, LoveBox Festival , Knee Deep in Sound and We Are Fstvl main stage for his third year!.
