DJ Honcho is a native of Northern Virginia. He was raised in a family built on the ideals that music is the soundtrack of life and every moment. With family roots from Trinidad & Tobago and the DC Metropolitan area, his musical appreciation is extremely diverse. 

DJ Honcho became hooked on the art of deejaying through the roots of his uncle and local DC DJ Hip-Hop legend, DJ Oso Fresh. DJ Honcho had the pleasure of being a part of Hip-Hop history in ways many in their childhood and teenage years never would have had the opportunity to as a result of his DJ family surroundings. He got into the club scene and learning the ropes of deejaying while still in middle and high school. Honcho also had the pleasure of being behind the scenes of artists to include KRS-One, Phife of ATCQ, Jungle Brothers, Sadat X, ED O.G., Organized Konfusion, Slick Rick, Ghostface & Raekwon from Wu Tang and many more.

With this love for the artform growing up, DJ Honcho purchased his first set of turntables at the age of 15 practicing transitions and tricks for hours until he perfected his vinyl mastery. He was then given the name DJ Eno at 12" Dance Records while digging; later being changed to DJ Honcho by his good friend, DJ So-N-So.

Fast forwarding, DJ Honcho is now not just a DJ, but an entertainment event consultant for various clients and DJ Manager. Management under Honcho includes Hip-Hop legend, Harlem's mixtape king and former DJ for Bad Boy Entertainment, DJ SNS. Former DJ for Onyx, DMX, and G-Unit - DJ LS One. DJ management under Honcho also includes local radio DJ favorites, DJ Trini 93.9 WKYS, DJ Analyze 93.9 WKYS, and DJ Reece 93.9 WKYS. Other key members of Honcho's team under the Gold Boot Entertainment crew include DJ So-N-So and DJ Pompey. 

DJ Honcho has worked the club scene in DC with roots at Club Five, Aroma, and Cities. He now frequents District Alley, MGM National Harbor, Piano Keys Restaurant & Lounge, Privilege DC Nightclub, Caspi Restaurant & Lounge, Babylon Woodbridge, Howard Theatre, & more. Specialty music genres of expertise include Classic Hip-Hop, Hip-Hop, LoFi, Acid Jazz, & Downtempo.

Some notable artists DJ Honcho has opened for include Little Brother, Yasiin Bey (formerly known as Mos Def), KRS-One, Benny The Butcher, Westside Gunn, Stove God Cooks, AZ, Lil Boosie,  & Lupe Fiasco.

Ricky Palmer, known to many as RICKY PLATINUM was born in Brooklyn, New York, but at a tender age, his Jamaican parents moved to Prince George’s County, Maryland. Ricky is the older of his two sisters. His father, Simeon Palmer, introduced Ricky to the art of music at the age of 4. 

Upon graduating high school, Ricky attended Prince George’s Community College, Music has been Ricky’s passion since his early childhood and he values it as his freedom of expression as well as a healthy escape, to the hard-inner city life that existed right outside his door.
Ricky began his musical career at the age of 17, when he was featured on his uncle’s Blacka Platinum Sound System, known as “Platinum Sound”. Ricky quickly proved himself as one of the sounds best-reviewed selectors. Shortly thereafter, the young selector adopted the stage name “Ricky Platinum.” 

In 2009, Ricky created a weekly event named, “Tipsy Wednesdays” (which has been newly named ALL STAR WEDNESDAYS) which created a buzz within the city and is now ranked as the DMV’s #1 weekly event. This themed- weekly event encourages and attracts audience participation by promoting creativity. Various international artists, DJ’s, local artist and dance groups are able to showcase their talents during this Wednesday night festivity.

Ricky’s extensive music library consists of Soul, Disco, Ska, Culture, Reggae/Dancehall, Soca, Rap, Hip-Hop, R&B, Go-Go and many more, has captured the attention of numerous promoters throughout the world. He specializes in ALL genres of music, which allows him to be classified as one of the most versatile selectors in the business, one that can be heard Every Friday on Ragashanti’s Tambourine Radio. 

He has entertained crowds at some of the most well-known clubs in the DMV such as: Fur Nightclub, Ibiza, Aqua, Lux Lounge, Ultra Bar, Bliss, Eden, Muse Lounge, Tattoo Bar, Layla Lounge, Crystal Lounge, Club Timheri’s and Crossroads Nightclub.

Ricky is now listed as one of the youngest most talented DJ’s in the D.C, Maryland & Virginia area. He has received the “Selector of The Year” Award in the DMV in 2010, 2011 and 2012. 

He was recently featured on FOX5DC for their #DJFridays Weekly Showcase, Baltimore’s Annual Jerk Fest, The Best of The Best Concert in Miami, Florida & British Link-Up in Florida, which features the most elite selectors in the Dancehall Community from the United Kingdom, the United States and Jamaica. 

His talents have granted him the opportunity of becoming an International DJ, receiving bookings throughout the United States, The United Kingdom & various Caribbean islands such as Jamaica, British Virgin Islands and the Bahamas.
