The Source was one of the early spots The Beat Junkies played at regularly and where you'd see groups like the Black Eyed Peas, Pharcyde, Yo Yo, Rodney O & Joe Cooley, Mad Lion, etc performing, where you'd hear Hip Hop & R&B that felt good. With these crazy times we need music to heal, music to sooth your soul. In this 1st half of 2020, we lost Kobe, we went through a Global Pandemic with Covid - which resulted in losing a lot of loved ones, been Quarantined in our homes for 3 months or more, and as our country is finally opening up....we experienced the unlawful killing of George Floyd sparking "Black Lives Matter" protests around the world, as well as riots, looting, Marshall Law around the country, imposed Curfews, and a fight to "Defund The Police". 

I recorded this "Music For The Soul" Mix to take help bring you back to simpler times, happier times, and bring back a little into joy to our lives. This mix is a journey through time, a mix of R&B, Soul & Neo-Soul music throughout the last 50 years....from the 60s to present times. Enjoy your weekend and please share :)

Back in the 90s, I was a DJ/Mixer on 92.3 The Beat and every year around this time we hosted "Summer Jam" at the Irvine Meadows (also formerly known as Verizon Wireless Amphitheater). The biggest artist in Hip Hop and R&B would grace the stage with iconic performances and I had front row view DJing on stage right of all of these artist.
