The World Is a Barrio is a mix of Afro-Latin music and it's influences to the world.  Barrio is a Spanish word that is equivalent to the ghetto or neighborhood . The Barrios and its sounds from Puerto Rico to NYC, from Cuba to New Orleans and many more have inspired the world. This MixTape cover uses Tahleim's baby picture from his baptism which has his parents and Godparents in it.. His godfather is the legendary salsa pianist Mark "Markolino" Dimond. Markolino's song "El Barrio" is featured on this mix along with "A Change Had Better Come" by The Alexander Review which is a group that includes Mark Dimond & Alex Reyes Jr. (DJ Tahleim's Father). I don't know who started the trend (Beatnuts maybe) where hip hop producers would go goo goo for 60s/70s pop Latin records with what was called "moody loops".  Our boy Maleet raided every bodega back room and Mexican disco for as much of this type of heaven he could muster.  We revisit this 2005 CD and channel our inner Psycho-Les.
