Solara is the Psytrance act of Natalia Roux, from Johannesburg, South Africa. Whilst discovering and following labels such as Uroboros, Zenon, Insonitus and Maia Brasil Records (to name a few), a fresh and upcoming sub-genre of psytrance known as dark prog/psygressive became Solara’s obsession. This lady is very proud to be one of the pioneers in bringing this defining vibe to crowds in South Africa and globally. Come day or night, Solara’s sound is chunky funky psytrance coupled with deliciously dark bass lines. A sound inspired by our Universe and it’s undiscovered masses, potentially concealing big-ass spaceships and aliens from all of us.

Iboga Series stars one of the first artists who released on the label, Oliver Bierlich of Reefer Decree, who’s joining us for a short chat about what’s happening in his studio and The Art of Absence.

In the early years he went on to work on his solo project
Oryx and also started working on a chill project titled Oliver
Jones with Jonas Christiansen, the debut album of which
was released on Sofa Beats in 2006. He also teamed up
with Ulrik finne creating the project"Ambush" with
several releases on Iboga and Sinsonic records . A bit
later on, Oliver decided to revive the Reefer Decree project
which had been mostly dormant the past years. Now
making waves with a much awaited new EP, the undeniable
Reefer Decree sound is back with 2 new tracks, co-written
with his girlfriend Gitte Thusgaard. Bearing the classic marks
and soundscapes of the original project but with a fresh
new edge and additional soundscapes from the Thusgaard
& Bierlich project, Reefer Decree brings us the long-awaited
revival of a sound that was surely missed by trancers of the
past, and a vital lesson in Progressive Psytrance 101 for the
new generations.
