Music helps to set life's mood.  How did I get here??? Well its been quite a journey. You see I love it all, from 70's soul, 80's funk, alternative. Quality music is my passion. Early 80's hip-hop and the Bay Area rave scene in the 90's shaped my DJ persona.  

For 20 + years House has run deep in my blood and in that same time Techno has become my sultry mistress.  You could say I love all things electronic and that encompasses a lot of different sounds. Everything from hip-hop, house, tech-house, techno, down-tempo,  and drum n bass.  Nothing Pop though and sorry NO EDM. 

I really love things that are Underground. Yeah Underground Dance Music is what I play. I love music that makes you dance and I love sharing new sounds. I especially  love the art of DJ mixing and specifically those who create a journey and a story with music. I hope to dance and groove as long as my soul feels it and my body allows. 

Well my my Soundcloud page, is now revamped and ready to  expose  beautiful, deep,techy, groovy, and some times hard hitting sounds!!!! I will keep it varied but always real. Please enjoy what you hear (feedback appreciated)!!!!!

Jamel Lee - the Seoul-born East-coast transplant is a classically-trained musician at heart, but you'll quickly find his psych & shoegaze influences bleeding into his sound... where he pays homage to the deep and dreamy; the dark and the uplifting sides of dance music; these are the magical moments that he searches for and constantly seeks to bring to his audience. 

Jamel has played some of the most visible venues at the forefront of the SF house & techno scene including Halcyon, The Great Northern, The Midway, Public Works SF, Monarch, Temple, and The EndUp. His atmospheric sets have captured wide attention and you’ll frequently find his name on bills with international heavyweights such as Joris Voorn, Ilario Alicante, Lee Burridge, Jan Blomqvist, Yoko0, Rodriguez Jr., Butch, Audiojack, HOSH, and scores of hometown heroes.

Doug Richards (djdougie) coined the name Lucidgroove as the title of his first mix tape. Until recently (2013) Doug had just about given up on spinning records. Not willing to trade in his 1200’s for CDJs, Doug would often show up at parties toting around 2 heavy cases of his newest records (which were 4 years old). Soon he was coerced into trying Serato with 1200’s and his faith was restored. 
In the late 90’s Doug discovered the underground music scene in San Francisco. The amazing vibe was too powerful to ignore. Every weekend he would travel 3 hours to the city in search of the best parties. Hitting all the big warehouse parties, and finding record stores was a weekly trek. Eventually he discovered there was also a slightly more organized club scene at venues like 1015 Folsom, EndUP and VSF.. Soon faces became familiar and great friendships were forged on the dance floor. It became clear he was living in the wrong city and he decided it was time to move to SF. 
His earliest influences were those of JZ and Dano, Dj Dan, Doc Martin, Simon, Rick Preston and Tony Hewitt. As his record collection grew, he sharpened his skills and began to develop his playing style. His style centered on funky and tech house and recently deep and tech house.
Soon after moving to the Bay Area, he got his first gig at Chemistry, a day party in San Jose, opening the main room for Terry Mullen and Scott Hardkiss. Some of his residencies include Thurs nights at Johnny V’s, Wed nights at the Usual, and Backflip in SF. He has played at 550 Barneveld, the ENDUP,  LIVEDJS.com, Tasty, Magic 8 Ball and private parties in San Jose, Santa Cruz, Oakland, Berkeley, Santa Clara, San Francisco, South Lake Tahoe, and Burning Man. His love for the music will never die, and creating an atmosphere for others to enjoy brings harmony to his life.
