Reflecting on Episode 100 with the incredible Detroit In Effect, we just wanted to thank all the people that tune into Bside Podcasts, to everyone who reaches out to us with positive feedback, and of course to all the fabulous guests who take the time to share with us their life’s work of collecting, curating, and sharing all the beautiful music in the world.

Without wanting to sit back and admire this landmark, we move on from number 100 with an international superstar to Episode 101 with someone very close to our heart and an integral member of the Bside team: Ruben Spa

With a big love of music, his graphic design skills, and some social media wizardry, his creativity and passion continues to drive the project forward. Ruben Spa continues to build upon his invaluable knowledge of the industry with his involvement at the Surefire agency. He also runs the Koselig event series in Edinburgh, who booked Hidden Spheres for an evening of mid-week madness at Sneaky Pete’s, before which we recorded an incredible live episode of the podcast. 

It was actually his co-founder of Koselig, James Cook, who recorded the very first episode for the Bside podcast. Over 2 years have passed since then, and the platform has grown substantially: 99 other guests and more than 60,000 listens from all over the world, and lots more in the works. 

So, it felt only right that our beloved Ruben Spa, should welcome us into the second century of Bside. Expect jazzy keys, horns, and chord progressions over house, hip-hop and broken beats, moving through beautifully layered techno and IDM

‘Curry’s House with D.D.Curry’ is a 2-hour dance music program on Voices At Night that combines DJ sets with guest interviews. The London-via-Brooklyn host is a DJ, producer and co-founder of electronic labels Fortune Signal and Working Rhythms Records. Each month, Curry will invite a guest DJ to provide a 1-hour set and have a lively conversation about songs that influenced them. In his mix for this month, Curry provides an energetic blend of house, UKG and rave sounds from around the world, with an emphasis on UK talent. He’s joined by Glasgow-based Dan be, a Spanish producer, DJ and co-owner of the Y4 Collective label, who discusses his disciplined approach to creating tracks, as well as his label’s curatorial process as it nears its 4th anniversary. Dan also contributes a clubby guest mix consisting of dancefloor-focused house, garage and breakbeats.

Quantreau brings us a rollicking, laser-focused mix for the second installment of our SIGNAL SESSIONS series.

SIGNAL SESSIONS 002 encapsulates the Brooklyn-based Fortune Signal Co-founder's genre-agnostic style. New gems and time-tested dancefloor weapons get equal footing as Quantreau plots a course through house, acid, club, and techno sounds. ‘Curry’s House with D.D.Curry’ is a 2-hour dance music program on Voices At Night that features exciting sounds and voices from the underground dance music community around the world. The London-via-Brooklyn host is a DJ, producer and owner of electronic labels Fortune Signal. This month, Curry’s House welcomes Brooklyn-based DJ/Producer Kyle Louis (fka KLM) released on Fortune Signal and Working Rhythms Records after making a name for himself as co-founder of New York’s popular Little Disco parties. Louis’s guest mix features energetic, clubby house sounds with some cheeky surprises sprinkled in. Curry’s own mix kicks things off with fresh underground house and garage sounds.

This time on FPR, we're joined by two all time faves of the FP camp - Stefan Ringer and Casino Times. 

Casino Times is the project of UK producers Joseph Spencer & Nicholas Church. The duo have released a broad swathe of dance music via labels like Futureboogie, Permanent Vacation, Omena Records & Wolf Music. They're also behind the white label Casino Edits series, which released the fifth edition last month. Their next release is due on Cimmerii’s ‘Universal Language‘ label this spring, featuring two original tracks that explore the frustrations of communication in a digital age. They threw us a mix that just bumps.

After that, it is time for Stefan Ringer. Stefan, fka REKchampa, is a DJ and producer from Atlanta, Georgia. Since he started releasing music in 2010, he has built up a wild discography on NDATL, PPU, Argot, and his own imprint FWM Entertainment. He is an influential force in Atlanta’s dance community, with a residence at the Sound Table with Ash Lauryn, and his own monthly party called Kudzu. Stefan is one of the most sound people around, and this mix is absolutely one for the books.
