Local Suicide announce their long awaited debut album ‘Eros Anikate' which will be released May 13th, 2022 via their own label Iptamenos Discos. The title translates to ‘love invincible’ and draws influence from a play written by Sophocles titled ‘Antigone’.

The album holds true to the duo's ‘technodisco’ sound that the couple has become so well known for and showcases their signature style of blending a retro feeling with a modern twist. In usual Local Suicide fashion, the duo’s debut album showcases tongue in cheek modern-day circumstances, mystical adventures, and moody baselines; all tied up with the promises of happy endings. You can instantly hear that this album comes from the duo’s hearts. Inspired by the travels and experiences they encountered throughout the pandemic, it’s also a love letter to the friends they met during their career - some of which are also featured on the album: Lee Stevens, Curses, The Hidden Cameras, Sissi Rada, Skelesys, Theus Mago, Hard Ton, Kalipo & Greek new wave legend Lena Platonos.

The producer couple has had a stunning amount of press coverage from leading electronic mags like RA, DJ Mag, Mixmag, FAZE, Groove, Ransom Note, TRAX, Time Out, Tsugi, XLR8R & Rolling Stone for their 13 EPs, numerous tracks on compilations and remixes since 2014 on acclaimed labels, while Beatport declared them as one of the key figures in the uprising dark disco scene. They also recently played themselves in Fett & Fett, a series broadcasted on German national TV station ZDF, in which their musical productions were featured extensively as well. Their DJ career has carried them to all four corners of the world, from Europe, Asia and North Africa to South America and the United States, whipping crowds into a frenzy at Lollapalooza, Melt!, ADE, Off Sonar, Festival Forte, Berlin Festival and many more. Their live cuts have been honed to perfection with years of shows alongside the very best in the scene, even being invited by New Order to warm up for their live show in Berlin.

These are anxious times indeed..and for the first time, this month's guest did not make it over to the studio... Fortunately not due to any virus related issues but just because time, as always, is one big ungenerous pimp. For the third show of the year The Anxious Beat had the pleasure of interviewing Southwest Detroit's own DJ Roach (Raul Rocha also known as DJ Roach 313) - DJ, producer, founder of Nuestro Futuro Records together with Ray 7 (Raphael Merriweathers Jr. from UR also known as 051, The Beat Mechanic, M.I.A. and The Unknown Soilder) and driven originator of the annual local Detroit party - Tec Troit Electronic Music Festival. The show starts off with castanets crackling in the heavy and infectious track Remember Where You Came From (Remember Your Culture) by DJ Roach and Ray 7's synergetic rhythm duo called NF-2. Roach starts his story at his childhood home, his father being a musician and how he was surrounded by music and instruments from an early age. We also get to learn about the life changing experience of seeing The Wizard perform behind 4 decks at The Stratford Theater back in 1985, getting into DJing along with his brother in 1988, latin freestyle and the beginnings of Tec Troit among many other things. Kevin Rise started DJing in Colorado and Hawaii way back in the 90s in the early rave scene.  He doesn't really stick to one genre, playing house, techno, breaks, pop, and even some rock depending on the vibe.

Kevin Rise started DJing in the Honolulu, Denver, and Los Angeles rave scene of the 90s.  While primarily playing warehouses in those days, he sometimes DJ'd at Access Nightclub in Honolulu and even opened for the band My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult for their Honolulu show at Groove Nightclub.  With early influences including new wave and industrial, he certainly enjoys performing darker sets with techno, bass house, and drum and bass, its the uplifting sets that get everyone going that he loves so much..

Most of the time Kevin Rise performances are upbeat tech and acidy house though, with a touch of nostalgia thrown in representing his love of all kinds of music,

In 2021 he started the Groove Is The Park outdoor dance party series in Austin, Texas and is a resident of that event.  But also plays venues around the Austin, Texas area and occasionally in Hawaii.

He'd love to branch out play some new spots and new cities, or go back to some of those old cities where he got a start so long ago.
