i am looking for some insight on the tracks i post.  i like to create ideas and then let people hear them and see where they would like them to go.  so please feel free to comment on each track and give me your ideas!

Gus Solis, aka DJ Kidbeat, started putting mix tapes together from songs he recorded off the radio in the late 1970's in Houston TX. At an early age he was known as the kid bringing the music and "beats" to all the family and neighborhood parties. In 1983 his two cassette recorders were replaced by turntables and the obsession with vinyl began. During high school, spinning New Wave and Industrial Club, Kidbeat DJed house parties and events including the infamous Todville Murder Mansion New Year's Eve party. After high school the turntables were shelved and the focus went into production and playing drums/keyboards in bands in Houston and Los Angeles. After small success in the Houston Hip Hop Rock band Aftershock, the Trip Hop band The Ne Plus Ultra and solo electronic projects Rockstar B-Boy and Space Voodoo, Gus returned to DJing in 2013 to assist with bringing Downtempo, Trip Hop and 80’s classics to fans in Houston and beyond. His current residencies are with Chill Beats Houston, Ambient Brew at Revelry on Richmond Summer Patio and Retrospect (80’s/90’s Classics) at House of Blues Foundation Room.

After years of indulging myself into the arts and music I have come close to the beginning of the end. 

Struggling with all aspects of life on this planet and in my head, trying to finding a way to belong to something that may never exist, Fighting blood and tears to understand what all this really means,

Why do we feel, what makes us respond ? If the answers are inside us than this is what you will find in me. 

Language has never fully captured or satisfied the spirit. 

Noise, touch, fear and love are to powerful to ignore and to complicated to comprehend. I have something inside of me , and I have no idea what it is but it wants out. 

Gold Cherry is that exposure of myself to selfishly satisfy my own needs.
