Sound Transitions is honored to bring you an excellent six track EP from Portland's own 5HTTP. The six tracks that comprise 5HTTP's Jel EP are varied and unique while all carrying the hallmarks of his expansive sound. They range from house thumpers to new age influenced spa dance to overdriven house smashers to mid-tempo hypnosis to bedroom headphone dives. The entire EP is filled with personality and emotion. This isn't some cold, unfeeling electronic album. This is something teeming with organic feeling and life. Maroki, 28, brings us a hot slab of electro tinged house music compliments of the E-Beamz label with their track "Lost." It's an emotional trip through delicate keys, yearning pads, and a twisting, turning bass line. Ice cold drums keep things from becoming totally unmored and drifting into the ether. It's a perfect example of the emotional impact that the right melody can have in dance music.
