Too Slow To Disco continues its goal to bring some much needed Sunshine, Love and Romance back into modern Pop music and dancefloors, via the new Sunset Nu Disco / Daytime Disco release on TSTD NEO: The original is a collaboration of two of the most interesting new modern Nu Disco/Pop producers, Canada’s NICOLAAS and Stockholm’s KIMCHII (on vocals). To round up the package, we present an incredibly smooth dubby downbeat disco remix by L.A.’s Turbotito (formerly one half of Poolside) and Kimchii gives the romantic POP original a more dancefloor orientated remix-version.

In NICOLAAS’ words:
“Nostalgia plays a huge role in this project. I find a lot of inspiration when looking back - be it to my own memories, older music, art, fashion, or perspectives in-general. There’s so much to look back at, it constantly pushes us forward. To me, this track evokes a feeling of nostalgia. Referring to love, looking back is a good way to ground yourself in the present. We learn more about ourselves with each relationship we build, and hopefully grow from those experiences.”

In Kimchii’s words:
”Forever Always is a song about love and desire which outplays in twilight landscapes, on a journey towards somewhere else. Both me and NICOLAAS vibe in these landscapes, so we created this song together online, by sending files back and forth to Winnipeg and Stockholm. Many parts of the track were written during the nighttime and I believe that gives the song that special feeling too.
We’re both more than happy to share the song with you all. You’re the light at the end of the tunnel - forever always!”

Something different in the 5th release of the Nu Disco series.
It really is almost a tribute to one of my current favorite artists: Yung Bae. 
One of the sessions that has given me the most work because half of the songs last from one to three minutes and have difficult beginnings and endings, not the usual ones at house or Nu Disco. 
Still, I think the result has not been so bad. 
Japanese Disco , Nu disco, Vaporwave and Future Funk, a fun and surprising mix.

We are excited to include the brillliant funk duo Fouk to the series. Fouk has indeed created their own signature with house sound infused with disco and massive funk. The sound has proven to be very infectious. We do agree!

In volume 16 they are taking us on an extraordinary ride with rare, sassy and highly obsessive jazzy funk and house.

Russia-based, nu-disco and slow-mo powerhouse, Buzz Compass, is our next feature in the Slow Mo Lounge mix series, alongside South African founder DJ Kongisto.

They've collaborated on yet another 3hr soundscape driven by chunky nu-disco reworks, and slow-mo sounds, played at an 88 to 95BPM rhythmic speed.

Kongisto says: It's been quite an honour to play alongside such a prolific producer. My biggest privilege is being able to connect with people from countries outside of my own with a common purpose, it's almost like sharing a language. For Andrey and I, it was a love for Deep and Slow-Mo House as well as Disco that brought us together - proving once again that music is a borderless society - something I'd like to harness with every release.

Buzz Compass, aka Andrey Bychenkov, is a producer and DJ who hails from St. Petersburg Russia. Since 1997 Andrey has been the resident DJ in his native city of Ivanovo and Nizhny Novgorod where he has lived for a couple of years, honing his skills on the turntables. 

Now based in St. Petersburg, Buzz has been producing since 2011 with multiple releases on Glenview Records as well as three EPs on No More Hits Records. 

He has also released his own music on top labels such as Editorial, Whiskey Disco, Masterworks Music, Midnight Riot, Freedom Sessions and more. 

Andrey loves repping his country; Russia, never passing up an opportunity to spin natively and in neighbouring countries Belarus and Kazakhstan. An avid disco collector and lover, Buzz is always looking for local disco and house music artists to promote the Russian scene which is exemplary in his dynamic sets & mixes.

After living in Dubai for 11 years where he edited DJ Mag Middle East as well as running his own parties, he’s back in the UK and freelancing for DJ Mag and Mixmag, as well as putting out regular EPs that span down tempo nu-disco joints, dubbed out edits and peak time bangers.
