The Slow Mo Lounge is a series of events based in Johannesburg with the sole purpose of unearthing quality nu-disco, slow-mo and deep house sounds to a music hungry South Africa. 

Held at an ever-popular bar called Kitcheners in Braamfontein, the project plays host to a variety of well-known, up-and-coming and stalwart deejays with one thing in common, an ear for quality music. 

In this mix, resident DJ Kongisto delivers just the kind of sound you'd expect to hear during an evening with the Slow Mo Lounge crew. 

It is also a lead up to the upcoming event on the 08th August 2014. See you on the floor!

Essex-based, nu-disco aficionado, Chuggin Edits and South African stalwart DJ Kongisto, have collaborated for a new mix in the series.  

Taking deejaying disciplines from both sides of the planet, the mix is a  96 - 101bpm soundscape, covering the best in new and classic nu-disco. It is jam-packed with slow burners.

Kongisto says: I'm personally excited about this project, the genre both Gary and I enjoy and produce, has created a borderless society driven by its most passionate source, music. I've learnt so much from Gary, doing this mix is more than an honour, it's a privilege. 

Producer and DJ, Chuggin Edits, is no stranger to the depth and infectious groove of slow mo as a genre and relentlessly continues to deliver on scorching, floor banging edits, inspired by the likes of A Tribe Called Quest, Loose Change, and Stephanie Mills to name a few. His production credits include Deep Sense, FKR, Alpaca Edits and Masterworks Music (again, to name a few).

De Gama Loves To Boogie

Stepping up for our first mix of 2020 is Italian producer Stefano Gamma!! Stefano goes by many aliases, but De Gama is his most lauded in no small part thanks to the 2010 classic tribal jam 'Afrika' that continues to get heavy rotation to this day. He’s co-founder of Samosa Records alongside Les Inferno, a fast-rising edits label from Rome that pushes all types of funk with Afro, Brazilian, Latin and boogie flavours in a disco house style, released strictly on heavyweight black vinyl. For us he dons his De Gama cap to throw down an hour of seriously good club focused edits which are sure to get anyone moving. Trust us when we say, this will get your Friday going in all the right ways, turn it up!
