Sobolik, a Brooklyn-based producer, DJ, promoter and label curator is up next for Tapes #98. Co-heading the London label All Centre alongside Simkin and DJ Pitch, Sobolik has been turning heads over the past two years with futuristic club cuts on labels such as 3024, CloudCore, Woozy, and early reflex. Sobolik's world is filled with colour and hyperkinetic energy - not fitting in one box, their output reacts to a broad palette of styles across North American and UK club music traditions. 

In February, they released their third EP, entitled Packet Loss, in a debut collaboration with Kindergarten Records, joining modern bass scene luminaries like Ayesha, Sha Ru, and Stolen Velour at Brooklyn’s preeminent home of chaotic, forward-thinking digital percussion tracks.

IO Podcast Series Episode 054 mixed by Einerlei(@einerleimusic)

With releases on labels such as Norite, Sungate and On Board Music, and with several more lined up on reputable techno labels, London-based Einerlei continues to hone his brain-bending, intricate sound. Fusing subtlety with a certain directness, he repeatedly - across a range of styles and influences - manages to capture and amplify unexpected atmospheric elements in his compositions. His DJ sets serve as a continuation of this philosophy, weaving a range of influences in a constant search for those unexpected twists and moments which unite a dancefloor.

In his mix for IO, Einerlei seeks to focus around an early dramatic transition, thereafter concentrating on finding a coherent balance between sincerity and playfulness with a mixture of quicker and slower blends being utilised to weave an eminently danceable tale.

Previously recorded during a live performance at Monarch in San Francisco for a Sunday gathering called WERD. The original recording was damaged by a poorly set needle, so I set out to re record with slight adjustments to the original journey. Both nights were colored by the rain, the changing season, and a desire to move.

JdB resides in Los Angeles, working as a sound engineer and entrepreneur, deploying Klipsch sound systems in the rave space as co founder of Corduroy Garden. JdB is a live hardware artist and vinyl DJ. Romanced by the Berlin club sound, he conjures a meditative dance floor energy harkening back to the pioneers of dub techno, employing DAW-less electronics.
