FAMcast 002 - Da Sunlounge

House Of Black Lanterns is an artist close to our heart; as part of the Houndstooth roster he's released a critically appreciated album Kill The Lights and further EPs on the label. Having seen acclaim as King Cannibal in the past with his bass weighted bashment influenced releases on Ninja Tune, with this project he presents a deeper side to his musicality that has certainly been turning heads recently. For the uninitiated, his sound draws on several influences, most prominently dub-infused techno, Dance Mania classics and modern gritty techno. 

Here he presents his high-octane sonic vision for us, taking us on a fast-paced journey through DJ Funk classics to Cajmere's seminal Percolator all the way to more recent tracks from the likes of Jimmy Edgar. With a very unique mixing style he keeps the energy level high, that will undoubtedly blow the cobwebs out of your home speakers. 

Catch him play alongside Robert Hood and Marcel Fengler in Room Two at the end of the month to celebrate EPM's 15th birthday. With an EP out on the label in late April for the music platform, he should feel right at home.

In anticipation for his performance at the PIV label night at Chicago Social Club, Fred Everything provides an exclusive vinyl-only mix for DHA.

Emerging from the heydays of Canada's 90s rave scene with a TR909 and SH101, the French-Canadian producer and DJ became known for his stylistic curation of 'everything' at his performances. Fred Everything has released a whopping amount of records throughout his career, crediting at least over 100 productions across multiple labels. He's gone on consistently touring worldwide for over 12 years, playing alongside artists such as Sasha, Pig & Dan, Basement Jaxx, Miguel Migs, Mark Farina, and Detroit Swindle.

Run and organized by Prunk, https://soundcloud.com/pivrecords is an Amsterdam-based House music label and platform striving to combine archetypical American House with a European touch. Alongside their scheduled releases, PIV organizes events in the scene of Amsterdam's vibrant nightlife, all the while curating their signature sound and vibe. I'm back to creating music, but most of the tracks on this page are old ones that I produced in high school (circa 2004 to 2006) for my own personal listening. The old stuff is all made in Fruity Loops. Hodge podge of wannabe house, drum n bass, industrial, hardcore, rap and RnB beats. Some of it is decent.
