Story :

Completely exhausted by gigs after which he had to sleep for three hours, Josh Wink went to his studio to work on the track, but the only thing that he could squeeze out of himself was laughter.

“So I said f**k it I’ll record myself laughing.” Back then, he was fascinated by, as he called it, Chicago minimalism: the less, the better. Which meant a Roland TR-909 with elements of classic house and experimental acid. Sound like it’s unfinished but interesting — it’ll do.

Don’t laugh was not recorded seriously — it’s a typical sketch: hypnotic, throbbing, diabolic. And besides, it resembled his previous release, How’s the music. Because it was recorded just for fun. But after this, Mike Weiss from a New York label, Nevrous, called. After hearing a funny demo by Wink, which he played as his background music, he immediately asked Wink to send the record to the headquarters of the label. It was Wink’s first big commercial success. Soon he would release Higher state of consciousness.

« Facing Yourself » est un titre que j'ai créé dans une période où j'étais seul, éloigné de mes proches. Ce son allie des sonorités mélancoliques, une mélodie plus claire qui vient nous guider au travers d'un voyage morose ... mettant en avant les doutes que j’ai traversé suite aux choix que j’ai réalisé. Ce son est pour moi un rappel de ces périodes de doutes. C'est pour cette raison que l'image illustre un personnage seul dans l'espace, on peut se demander ce qu'il fait là, pourquoi.

From a young age, driven by the more rhythmic sounds playing on MTV, it wasn't long before he browses the Nightclubs of the kingdom in the early 90’s. The first Belgian raves were part of his daily life. His eclecticism has taken him on the slopes of Planet Hardcore to the Extreme via Fuse. The Cherry Moon is his Heart nightclub for more than 3 decades.
It is obviously a passion for this DJ in the making around 1997 when this year he acquired his 1st Technics SL 1210. Performances followed during his events organized in the region between Sambre & Meuse and providing the Retro, Techno and House sequences for a well-known mobile sound system in the region until 2001. After a few visits to clubs like La Bush, Le Bunker or even the Metropolis, he resides for a while at the Mojito Bar in Charleroi followed by another club in Acoz. During the 2000s he played for one of the first web radio, Retro Is Not Dead, for several shows per week in which his sets were broadcast alongside sets of electronic music pioneers who agreed to participate as Guest.

At the same time around 2005 he began his activity as a generalist DJ, officiating in weddings, open air and family reunions of all kinds.
At the beginning of 2020, with the end of event activities at the global level, he demonstrated his capacity for resilience and decided to live his passion in a different way, he took composition lessons with a DJ recognized around the world, DKA.

Today he is about to release his 1st EP and wants to refocus on electronic music. He was happy to participate from the end of 2022 at several Techno events in Bruxelles, Eghezée or for the DEF Partie’s,…
