Steph Mag – 30 Years of Techno: Depth, Rhythm, and Emotion

Steph Mag is one of those rare artists in the electronic music world who has dedicated the past 30 years to performing and producing techno on a global scale. Having played across all continents for a wide range of organizations, clubs, and communities, he has consistently asserted his unique musical vision.

Today, his artistic universe unfolds in two distinct directions: one with a slower BPM, featuring deep, hypnotic, immersive techno; the other, a more intense, hard-hitting Hardgroove style—percussive, powerful, and uncompromising.

Steph Mag has always championed a solid, profound form of techno, rooted in a rich and nuanced musical spectrum. His sets are sonic journeys between shadow and light, far removed from the beaten paths of the mainstream. A child of the '80s, he was shaped by the sounds of synth-pop pioneers like Depeche Mode and experimental electronic icons like Kraftwerk, weaving a touch of nostalgia, voice textures, and melodic depth into his performances.

A trained drummer with a deep passion for rhythm, Steph Mag favors a percussive, groove-oriented approach to techno, crafted for the dancefloor. Known for his powerful and unpredictable Hardgroove sets, he stands out with live improvisations, dynamic mixing, and a signature technique that’s all his own.

With numerous DJ residencies in France and abroad, he has shared the stage with legendary figures of the electronic scene such as Laurent Garnier, Marco Carola, Gene Farris, Bob Sinclar, Manu le Malin, Liza 'N' Eliaz, Scan X, and many more.

Beyond clubs and festivals, Steph Mag has also made his mark in more refined and laid-back settings, performing sunset and lounge sets in prestigious venues across Asia—including Bali, Ko Samui, and Bangkok—where he skillfully adapts his sound to more contemplative atmospheres, always with finesse and musical integrity.

Bell Mesk, DJ desde o início dos anos 90, influência negra em seu som desde sempre. Transitou na black Music vinda dos anos 70, 80 e 90… Logo na sequência, por volta de 1994/1995, as influências negras da musica eletrônica já transitavam eu seus sets, enquanto a EuroDance dominava de certa forma o cenário de dance Music na área de Ceilândia e Taguatinga, sim Bell Mesk é da periferia, seu som caminhava para as influências de Chicago. 

No final dos anos 90, o drum’n’bass entrou em vida, som esse que levou até o final de 2004, quando decidiu seguir pro som sofisticado e fino da House Music. 

Em 2005 logo de início foi convidado por Henrique Hermeto para tocar em seu projeto Deep House Culture, onde abriria a noite para o lendário Victor Simonelli, onde recebeu inclusive discos do próprio Victor. E de 2005 aos dias atuais, tem representado um som característico próprio, sendo influência e referência no Distrito Federal. 

No ano de 2008 iniciou sua residência no badalado Dudu Bar na 303 sul, residência essa que durou até o ano de 2024, onde a música representou e influenciou outras casas em todo o DF. House Music com levadas disco e funk são elementos essenciais em seu som.

Bell Mesk, DJ since the early 90s, has always had a black influence on his sound. It carried over into black music from the 70s, 80s and 90s... Soon after, around 1994/1995, the black influences of electronic music were already present in their sets, while EuroDance somewhat dominated the dance music scene in the area. from Ceilândia and Taguatinga, yes Bell Mesk is from the outskirts, his sound was influenced by Chicago. 

At the end of the 90s, drum'n'bass came into existence, a sound that continued until the end of 2004, when he decided to move towards the sophisticated and refined sound of House Music. 

In 2005, he was invited by Henrique Hermeto to play in his Deep House Culture project, where he would open the night for the legendary Victor Simonelli, where he even received records from Victor himself. And from 2005 to the present day, he has represented his own characteristic sound, being an influence and reference in the Federal District. 

In 2008, he began his residency at the trendy Dudu Bar on 303 Sul, a residency that lasted until 2024, where the music represented and influenced other venues throughout the DF. House music with disco and funk vibes are essential elements in his sound.

As a producer Leandro has released tracks under established labels such as Sirup, Quantize,Street King , King Street Sounds, NiteGrooves , Soul Candi , Open House , Multi-Racial , Karmic Power Records  and many more. His productions have received notoriety having multiple tracks selected in the Traxsource Soulful , Tech, Progressive and Weekend Weapons charts , as well as having multiple tracks in the Traxsource top 100 genre specific charts . Leandro has also had multiple tracks in the iTunes top 100 House music charts (reaching as high as #48 in America and #19 in Cyprus ), also having multiple #1 spots in the iTunes Dance music category for Cyprus and multiple tracks selected for  Beatport Staff Picks, HTFR top 100 and more . 

Leandros' music is well supported within the industry and he has received support from some of the world's best DJ's and producers including EDX, DJ Spen, Culoe de Song, Black Coffee, Bert Bevans, Quentin Harris, Karizma, Laurent Garnier,Booker T, Phaze Dee, Vinny da Vinci , Laurent Garnier , Dirty Secretz, H@K, Felix Da Housecat and more . He has had the honor of playing alongside some of the worlds best DJ's including Sam Divine, Sharam (Deep Dish) JoJo Flores, Portia Surreal, Bert Bevans, Paulette, Sam Poppet, Les Schmidt, Oliver, DJ Fresh, Roger Goode, Glen Lewis, & many more. He has also done official remixes for artists such as Black Coffee , Sis n Jones , Tumelo and more. Leandros has giged around the world playing over 100 venues worldwide, including some of the best clubs worldwide, such as Amnesia (Ibiza), Guaba (Cyprus), Balux (Greece) ,Skyline (Miami) , Taboo (South Africa), The Palms (South Africa) to name a few. In his current homeland of Cyprus he previously held residencies at XS nightclub, Ammos Beach Bar, Patio , Blueberry Cafe and many others.

Apart from being an accomplished DJ and producer, Leandro hosts his weekly radio show 'Colours of House' on Deejay Radio Cyprus , which has become the longest running & most syndicated house music/dance radio show in Cyprus' history . Syndicated most notably on Grant Nelson's D3ep Radio Network.
