Wearin’ black clothes and bustin’ mad flows, YEG-based J-Sound brings that bass to the DnB faithful.
After winning Western Canada’s biggest DJ competition — the Pioneer Mix Master Battle — in 2010, he’s opened for dozens of top 100 DJs and dished out his signature sound to thousands.
A mainstay at The Womp festival, as well as part of NABDnB, he’s also a substitute teacher at Sunday School, lending light to the darkness with pulse-pounding drum and bass.
Drawing off influences ranging from k motionz and phibes to culture shock, J-Sound shares his creative light through music, dance and laughter, producing an ear-pleasing mix of dark, heavy and dangerous.

[Edmonton, Canada-based] Steve Belanger, an up-and-coming dubstep music producer who goes by the music moniker of NIGHTHAVVK when in the studio and once he steps on stage. Over his more than a half-decade tenure as a musician, his productions primarily encapsulate the genres of riddim and dubstep and is heavily influenced by cinematic styles.

He derives a great deal of his inspiration from rising and headlining electronic acts like Avance, Muerte, Virtual Riot, Liquid Stranger, and Champagne Drip. All of which carry a signature sound and mode of delivery that NIGHTHAVVK emulates and conveys in his music and performances. 

His calculated and dialed approach to making bass music has allowed NIGHTHAVVK to not only create music that he, his listeners, and his fans love but has garnered him nearly seventy-five-thousand streams, played in 123 countries, signed to record labels like The Bass Space (via his 2023 single “Slaughter”) and gained recognition from media outlets/publications like Monsoon Season. 

His latest tunes and remixes such as his fiery variation of Avance’s “Insidious”, and his singles “Crush” and “Slaughter” are his empirical proofs of concept that NIGHTHAVVK is here to stay and his time is now. This is NIGHTHAVVK.
