As a Crooklyn Clan featured artist, DJ X Mind has remained one the top 20 best selling artists on the site since his debut. But X Mind has come a long way since his first mixed track at the age of thirteen. Using just a Radio Shack mixer and two walkmans, X Mind started out mixing for fun and DJing birthday parties. As his reputation grew, so did his opportunities. He was soon doing weddings and DJing at clubs regularly. His travels in the past few years have taken him around the tri-state area, as well as to Miami, Texas, and Chicago. His tracks have been played countless times on radio stations and, at this point, he has remixed every genre of music with his untouched production skills. From a simple love of music to the ability to turn a party upside down, X Mind is proud to have accomplished so much at such a young age.

Henry Skillz embodies this energy both in the spotlight and behind the scenes.

His passion for the Hip Hop industry and pioneering both locally and internationally radiates through his personal as well as his professional presence.

As an artist, Henry Skillz is a pivotal figure in the Australian and international Hip Hop scene. Among his impacting career highlights, Skillz hosted and managed the 2010 Bone Thugs N Harmony Melbourne appearances. Earning the respect of industry legends Krayzie Bone and Wish Bone of Bone Thugs N Harmony, who entrusted Skillz with the great honour of being their ‘Official Australian Tour DJ.’

Henry Skillz’s impact on Australia’s print in the Hip Hop industry resonates both behind the scenes and in the spotlight. He was the lifeblood that kept Melbourne’s end of 2012’s iconic Heatwave Festival alive against the odds of technical difficulties and pivotal artists being MIA.

In 2014 Skillz continued to climb to new heights. His uncanny and raw talent mixed with an uncompromising hard work ethic saw Skillz touring with DJ Rectangle, Mac Miller and Snoop Dogg. 2015 didn’t miss a beat for Henry as he hosted Nelly, B.o.B and Lupe Fiasco at Melbourne’s iconic Myer Music bowl to a phenomenal twenty thousand people. 

Among his many and varied achievements, Henry Skillz is DJ to Sony Recording Artist and Neighbours TV Star Bonnie Anderson.

Skillz isn’t just about the names in lights, though. He also mentors up-and-coming music protégés.

Artist and event management was a natural step in the growth of Henry Skillz’s brand within the Australian entertainment scene. Working with industry guru Ralph Carr of RCM in 2018, Henry Skillz managed many high-profile tours, including Hollywood royalty Charlie Sheen.

Record label Holla Back Entertainment was born in 2010 from Henry’s vision to create a platform that takes in the entire spectrum of the urban music scene, from industry vets to fresh talent. Although Holla Back has a distinctly urban vibe, it is not latched solely to a specific music scene, representing and supporting a variety of artists across House, R&B and Rock genres, as well as its Hip Hop roots. Representing exciting new talent such as Drank Water, Henry Skillz has set the pace for a new era in the Australian urban music industry to flourish.

Henry’s passion for the urban music scene has no limit. From some balmy Summer nights at St Kilda’s White Bar where inspiration planted her seeds, a collective project between Holla Back Entertainment and friends grew. Starting life as a club night, Henry Skillz’s collaborative venture Ice Cream Sundays has grown into an internationally broadcasted radio show, showcasing fresh Hip Hop talent. Ice Cream Sundays are available online through Energy Groove Radio, allowing people to connect with the show digitally.

Henry felt a calling to revolutionise the clothing industry in Australia further and extend our global fashion print. Skillz’s brainchild Spacely Clothing represents everything he stands for in life - equality, harmony and the opportunity to be unapologetically authentic. In this industry jump, Henry has realised that high-quality and cutting-edge design can be the platform for self-expression and freedom. Spacely Clothing also represents the spirit of giving back to the community through the orchestration of local fundraisings, such as the 2020 Bushfire Relief after the decimation of many areas of Australia.

In an industry constantly changing and demanding more, few Disc Jockeys have consistently been able to adapt and push conventional limits, better then Jay Velar. 

Jay's journey began when he first witnessed the complex art of turntablism. He knew right then that he had found his calling. It was this passion that drove him to spend hours locked away perfecting his craft and striving to reach new creative limits. 

A veteran to the decks, with almost ten years of experience, this DJ and producer can boast more accomplishments then most will in their entire career. With thousands of followers and millions having heard his music, he has emerged as one of the East Coast's hardest working DJs and is responsible for some of the leading remixes played in night clubs today. 

Aiming to set himself apart from others early in his career, he began producing mash-ups and remixes. Within a year, he found himself alongside some of the most recognized names in the industry when he was asked to join Crooklynclan.net; the #1 remix site in the world for DJs. In late 2011, he was enlisted by DJ Kontrol and Lil Jon himself to remix their single, "Get Naked." This collaboration resulted in a charting hit on Beatport.com, reaffirming his hit making abilities.

Not satisfied with only being a distinguished remix artist, Jay continued to push creative boundaries and made the shift to producing original music. In 2014, he released his first original production, "Get Up", via Digital Empire records. The song went on to become a top seller on the world renowned Beatport.com. Promptly following the success of "Get Up", he was approached by Arkade Records to release his follow up single, "Surge." The single was backed and premiered by EDM.com, receiving support from some of the most acclaimed names in the industry.

While simultaneously selling thousands of digital records, producing floor-filling remixes, and crafting crowd-pleasing singles, Jay continues to be a full time working DJ; performing weekly at an array of venues on the East Coast. Unlike most, he has struck a blance between being a top DJ and producing distinguished club anthems. Despite his love for the studio, there is no place this artist feels more comfortable, than behind a pair of Technics.

In a day and age, where the term "DJ" is loosely applied to anyone who can play a song, few like Jay can seamlessly bridge the gap between genres and react to the vibe of a room. Jay recognizes his job as a DJ is not only to introduce new music, but also to rely on time tested favorites, playing them differently than anything the listener has heard before.
