Originally recorded for a 60 minute cassette mix tape titled "Firefly Canyon", here is Side A "Day Dreaming", a hazy tribute to memories past, road tripping through the countryside with friends and discovering a canyon in the woods filled with endless fireflies glowing in the warm summer night sky. This goes out to my old school KSA and Funk Fiends crew, the people I was closest with during the '90s and whose memories of that canyon inspired this mixtape. This one is a personal favorite. This mix CD was an artistic collaboration with my man Augie Galan who took care of art direction, concept & packaging of these CDs for his notorious street wear company Acapulco Gold. We both grew up running around these NYC streets, so he inspired me to make this mix of early hip-hop, disco rap, punk funk, with healthy doses of disco and boogie business. I stayed away from the obvious cuts and went a bit deeper. This was made with OG vinyl found while digging around the streets of NYC...
