I stumbled across this acapella a few months ago and absolutely fell in love with Danielle Ponder's voice. It was so compelling that it felt as if the universe was calling me to create a song with it, so I did. This track is an accumulation of everything I have learned about producing in the past year. I wrote it, mixed it and mastered it all myself (aside from the vocal obviously). It's not perfect but it's honest work and I'm proud of it. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed making it.

King James Lee is the musical driving force behind one of London's biggest LGBTQIA+ parties, Roast @ Electrowerkz. James delivers high-octane, tech-edged entertainment every fortnight to a packed house of bears, cubs, chubs, chasers, muscles and admirers. His first single with us (w/ Brandy X) was the brilliant "Break The Disco", a pumping yet personal protest song about acceptance in clubland. On "Body Bumpin", he and vocalist Leyla Diamondi take us to Roast's main room for a no-holes-barred DJ-friendly thump-fest. Hardfloor-esque acid and Andruss-style beats underpin a system-shaking bassline, while Leyla delivers a cool-as-you-like topline. "DJ, come give me something," she deadpans before the main drop, and King James Lee delivers with aplomb. It's a killer.

Following up his recent Toolroom ‘Club Talk’ release, Flashmob lands on the sister imprint Toolroom Trax with another fresh club record ‘Bulldrums’, a collaboration with Devotionz. This track is a testament to Flashmob's ability to consistently produce unique and authentic club music, releasing records that have reached a global audience from classics on Defected through to more modern club records on Toolroom.

The two Italians connected after Flashmob’s club support of the Toolroom Academy graduate Devotionz debut track ‘Tattoo’ at Pacha Ibiza, in which the pair shared their common passions for electronic music and their love for French Bull Dogs which led to this natural collaboration and aptly titled track ‘Bulldrums’.

Prolific Polish duo Catz ‘n Dogz return to DFTD with ‘Fired Up’, featuring Dope Earth Alien’s unmistakeable vocal. The house, disco and electro DJs and producers have just celebrated two decades of chart-topping releases and international shows with a special remix compilation on their own label, ‘20 Years Of Catz ‘n Dogz’ on Pets Recordings; the label bosses are also heading to Defected Croatia 2024 for an anniversary boat party like no other. Following their two-track DFTD releases ‘Inner Revelation’ and ‘No Regrets’ in 2020 and 2021 respectively, Greg and Voitek return to the London club label with prolific dance vocalist Dope Earth Alien; also a DFTD returnee following recent club hits ‘That Sound’ with Deeper Purpose & GUZ and ‘Tempo’ with OFFAIAH. For ‘Fired Up’, Dope Earth Alien’s signature vocal flow is heavily manipulated over driving rhythms and heavy bass synths, creating a powerful and techy outing on DFTD while showcasing a darker side to Catz ‘n Dogz.

When Kevin McKay relaunched Glasgow Underground in the 2010s, Raffa FL was one of the early artists he recruited to build the label's new sound. Raffa's collaborations with Mihalas Safras and Paride Saraceni were some of the most sought-after DJ cuts back then. Fast-forward nearly a decade, and we are back in partnership again, following Raffa's massive Latin Tech hit, "Ritmo", with another percussive adventure. No prizes for guessing it's the Gypsy Kings he's reworking here but with the addition of Cumbiafrica on guitar and Lina on vocals, he's given the song a very different spin to the ones already out there. The beats are straight-up tech house, while the filtered Flamenco guitars deliver the good feels and Lina's superb vocals top the lot. It's a classy banger.
