São Paulo producer and DJ Seed Selector has developed a distinctive style of melodic, progressive house shot through with funk, breakbeat and Miami bass influences.

His new four-track release, "TINHA Q SER" , arrives as a joint project from Tropicana Records and Jardineira Records.

The EP opens with “Aumenta o Som (Original Mix),” a collaboration with DJ Sanduba that combines urgent percussion and vocal fragments with a playful, block-party energy. Its counterpart, the “Solteira Mix,” strips the track back into looser, freer form, letting the rhythm expand into open space.

On the flip, “Dump of Life (Original Mix)” drives into heavier territory: a hypnotic, percussive workout with basslines that trace the tension of city nights. The “Vapo Mix” reworks it into something sharper and more vaporous, pushing towards a psychedelic release.

"TINHA Q SER" underlines Seed Selector’s range: funk-infused house with both weight and freedom, rooted in São Paulo’s underground but reaching outward to European dance floors.

Asquith, Catswith or just Jimmy. A man you'll no doubt be familiar with through his diligent service to your favourite sonic seafood supper, Lobster Theremin. Alas, the mans talents span beyond the required acumen to build and sustain such an industry stronghold. Those of you in the know will be aware of his musical ability through the more ambient alias Tom Hang and the warehouse dance-floor ready, Chicago Floatation Device. However, of late, Jimmy has been littering the sonisphere with strictly bangers for our enjoyment via his actual name alias, Asquith.

This one is called 'Hot Hot' - a certified floor weapon which skirts the border of being club tool, yet holding the esteem of a full bodied banger.  A devastating bottom end is amalgamated with glitched percussion which - along with the near percussive vocal stabs - violently slice and slash through the mix. Put it this way, you're not listening to this in the car with your mum but bring her to the club and listen to it there?

[PREMIERE] LUCAS BOSTON - A RAINY NIGHT IN FAIRFIELD

A week into September and let’s be real. We’re all facing the same reality; sit down socials are here to stay, and we’re enviously watching videos of last night’s rave, just across the pond in Paris. Well, not to worry! Bringing his own party from across the (Irish) sea, introducing Jack Ballantyne, with Mix 003. 

Hometown Sligo, may not be quite as big as Paris, but Jack’s certainly been making waves. Starting out in the local club scene back in 2017, it wasn’t long before Jack made his debut at a number of clubs across the country, such as Wigwam, Cypress Avenue, The Cellar, The Loft and Carbon (Der Kesselraum). Also as founder of collective Select, they’ve hosted some of the finest talent in Ireland, including Adamant, Mark Blair, Bobby Analog and Adult Store. To top it all off, Select’s ongoing mix series is an absolute gold mine too, so be sure to check those out. 

With Mix 003, don’t be fooled by the opening, spacey and hypnotic lyrics. Jack’s signature high energy house creeps in quick, morphing into dark breaks, before finishing with a string of trance and techno, where you can almost feel that 4am sweat. Featuring some of summer’s biggest electronic anthems and cameo’s from Kanye and Britney, there’s something for everyone in this hour. @hesnotjack
