From the vibrant city of Barcelona, Martin Noise plunges us into his latest EP titled "Con M," released under the Mexican label, Duro Label. This EP features three captivating original tracks and two remixes, the first by the Swedish artist Elfenberg, and the second crafted by the unparalleled Roe Deers.

The odyssey begins with "Mucho Manglar," a solid, percussive, and acidic track that hooks you from the first moment. The combination of the bassline and drums keeps you in check, while the percussion and synthesizers transport you to a jungle of sounds. Next up is "Macumba," a collaboration with DELLA that unleashes an electrifying rhythmic spell. The funky bass, percussion section, and acidic leads come together to create the perfect enchantment that will keep you moving to the rhythm of its magic.

To conclude the original versions, we have "Martelli," a resounding, hypnotic, and bustling track. The persistent drums, twisted bassline, reverberating vocals, and soothing synthesizers immerse you in a hypnotic experience, accompanied by nocturnal keyboards that add a layer of intrigue to the journey. Next is the remix of "Macumba" by Elfenberg, a track that reveals an interpretation full of acidic nuances. The second remix, by Roe Deers, presents us with a solid and lysergic reinterpretation. The electric bass guides the journey through hallucinatory synthesizers, vocals, and percussion.

A collaboration between Greco-German duo Local Suicide, and Argentinian Panko brings this sexy and dark single that mixes both worlds, with some Latin percussions, a groovy baseline, and Spanish vocals. The feeling on it evokes the sensation of stepping into a club, where the euphoric, sensual energy of the dance floor envelops you in ecstasy and the night's journey, intoxicated by the music, surrendering to the urge to dance without inhibition or the need for words.

Greco-German Vamparela and Brax Moody of unstoppable DJ and producer duo and couple Local Suicide do not believe in half measures for their music. In addition to maintaining careers in the music industry, and pu ing on some of the most infamous underground parties Berlin has to offer, these two are still finding time to make waves with their productions and drive live audiences into a frenzy not just in their chosen hometown of Berlin but across all four corners of the world. A wild fusion of new wave, acid, slow techno, EBM, and dark disco is what defines the signature Local Suicide sound. French electronic duo Kimshies, composed of Peo Watson and Mika Frojman marks their inaugural release on Roam Recordings with their latest EP, "End of Love". Matteo Mussoni and Nicola Zucchi were raised on the 1970s and early 80s disco romance. The duo founded Sparkling Attitude by channelling their shared love of music machines and mirrorballs. Their debut EP draws on the magic of Italo disco, the silver screen's synthesiser soundtracks and the Italian coastline's open stretches. “Dov’eri Sabato Sera” recounts the tale of unrequited love; youth, possibility and dashed hopes play out to a crisp rhythm and wistful melodies. Those heart-strained notes then take the limelight for the instrumental version, analogue strings soaring to impassioned heights. The flames keep burning on the flip with “Melodico Romantico”. Disco-infused, bold and brazen beats are made up of dark rouges and effervescent greens as breathy vocals whisper. Mussoni and Zucchi dive deep into their machines for the curtain close. Boys’ Shorts, the dynamic queer duo hailing from Greece, comprised of Vangelis (formerly of LAGASTA) and London based Tareq, are set to unveil their EP 'Something To Forget’.  

Following their successful ‘New Era’ EP which was on high rotation on Berlin’s RBB Radioeins, and lending their remix skills to Local Suicide on their Eros Anikate album, Boys’ Shorts are yet again back on Iptamenos Discos with ‘Something to Forget’. The duo consists of Vangelis and Tareq who have been friends for over a decade and have had an incredibly successful year, with a string of highly praised releases on Permanent Vacation, Live At Robert Johnson, HE.SHE.THEY & Pets Recordings, and DJ sets in esteemed venues including London’s E1 and Berlin’s Berghain as well as remixing Alison Goldfrapp and supporting her on tour.  

‘Something To Forget’, the first single and title track starts with a strong kick and a prominent snare which punches through the mix and becomes a driving force which anchors the track. The bouncy and energetic bassline is contrasted with lyrics which are somewhat melancholic, however they are performed in a way that gives them an underlying sense of optimism.  

‘Something To Forget’ is sure to be a revered release by Boys’ Shorts and another exciting addition to the Iptamenos Discos catalogue. The full EP including both remixes will be released on all digital/streaming platforms and 12” vinyl on June 14th, 2024.

Italian duo Modular Project align their analogue gear and do what they do best in modernising nostalgic melodies and propelling them with punchy drums. 'It's Time' renders a vision of 90s hedonism as pupil-widening sequences bind with ecstatic pianos in a warm, rushing embrace. Thick, accurate drums give the track pace and power with claps and hats flickering overhead like strobes through fog. 

'Sex!' then rolls out a neat and classy groove as the sturdy bones of a Disco beat thump under a snake-hip bass, serrated acid line and bold, unfiltered piano chords.

'Echosphere' then dims the lights as swooning vocals (by Lattedoro) and glacial stabs are draped over snappy, broken drums. Modular manipulation drives the growth of the track as it blooms across an Intergalactic trip rounding off a varied but cogent record that speaks to the core of Exploited's ethos.

Rory Hamilton, aka Hammer, is a Belfast-born and bred producer and one of the underground's most astute artists. He co-helmed the famous Feel My Bicep blog with Bicep and has taken his brand of disco worldwide. He has released it on Optimo, Shall Not Fade and others while running his own Italo Hiits and Remmah. Now he offers another sneak peek of the upcoming Ibiza Get Physical with 'Red Alert.' 

It is a superb and chugging disco sound with a sleazy low end and cosmic arps that spiral up top. A taught bassline keeps things rooted to the floor while subtly euphoric emotions, Italo chord work and retro sound designs all bring the colour. 

Remixer ABSOLUTE. is a key figure on the London dance scene who has graced the cover of Mixmag and released massive crossover hits like ‘String Theory’,’Stuck in Love’ and ‘Voices’ whilst dropping music on Shall Not Fade, DJ Haus’ Hot Haus and La La’s Sound as Records, amongst others. His High Alert Remix is a raw and percussive one that channels early Chicago house and is lit up with rave-ready stabs and full-throttle drums.
