Adam Beyer and Ida Engberg deliver something a little different with their next collaboration; ‘You Know’.  Unlike their recent Drumcode release 'Unanswered Question', ‘You Know’ is a deep house killer that will appeal to new and old fans alike. Using a number of melodies within both the bass line and melodic synth that sits at the back of the mix, these two elements harmonise together smoothly and create an ear catching juxtaposition that will get the dance floor rocking before the vocal roars over the track.

We are back in 2013.
Beginning of 2012 a new name appeared on the international dancefloor: CLAPTONE (artist of the year 2012 in German Trendcharts DCC).
The track ‘CREAM’ became the worldwide Top Track (No.2) of Beatport in the category Deep House and was among the Top 10 of the most charted tracks for 2012 on Resident Advisor.
The new year brings 2 more surehots for the clubs: WRONG & NO EYES featuring JAW from dOP.
Early support by Tensnake, Solomun, Noir, Laurent Garnier, DJ T…

In a now long forgotten world, many generations ago, a bird like shape emerged from wooded darkness, floating and fluttering, drifting and dreaming. Backlit by a bright glow of iridescent light, the undecipherable form wore a dazzling golden mask. Its long beak swooped down like an inverted horn and since then, people have referred to the mythical being simply as Claptone.
Years spending wandering medieval landscapes have informed Claptone’s view of the world, experiencing both magical mystery and muted melancholy he enchanted onlookers with occult instruments and beguiling sounds. Forever surrounded by a sense of intrigue, the world soon cottoned on to the elusive yet enchanting musical powers of this otherworldly beast. The results are that today his shamanistic sonic powers take him all around the world.
Whilst Claptone has continued to roam in his own circles, 2012AD proved to be a year dominated by his infectious ‘Cream’ track. It became an immediate hit, topping new world charts at Beatport and RA, whilst the sonic conjuring of the ‘Night On Fire’ EP also lured all those who heard it, with the result another Top 20 hit. But that’s not all, for the creativity flows freely in our hero, and his ‘Another Night’ also proved to be just as successful on the dancefloor. Deep and woozy, the Claptone sound pairs theatre with tragedy, feel good vibes with acute melancholia and imbues each groove with a Rhodes laced funk, an organic string hook and myriad earthy elements.
Up to the present day, Claptone releases have been birthed on Germany’s influential Exploited label, picking up props from the likes of Pete Tong, DJ Sneak, Soul Clap, DJ Hell, Jesse Rose, A-Trak along the way. Who or whatever Claptone is, it is alive, with a life of its own, evolving and revolving in equal measure, exploring new sounds naturally and forever taking inspiration from long gone and occult worlds.
So far, esteemed and influential dancefloors at clubs in Berlin, London, Paris, Melbourne, Shanghai, New York and many others around the world have fallen under the sonic spell of this secretive alchemist. The future is unpredictable for Claptone, but a new release ‘Wrong’ including the track ‘No Eyes’ with the inimitable JAW from French funsters dOP is on the horizon. Beyond that, your guess is as good as ours…

There’s a lot of amazing things aligning here with this premiere.  First off, it’s new material from Klaxons. This alone is momentous as they were essentially one of the first acts to really take off in blog culture almost 10 years ago and have even had trends based on them in the UK.  Basically, they broke the internet before there was such a thing.  Second, there are some serious names affiliated with this new material that’s supposed to be presented as a new album in the Spring.  The album appears to be steered in some part by Tom Rowlands (1/2 of the Chemical Brothers…HELLO) and the one and only James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem, DFA Records).  These facts alone have me geeked as they are two of my bigger influences in all of dance music.  Third, this premiere.  Word is Gorgon City produced the original and Claptone, who’s been on fire in the disco house realm for some time, took this to the deep house stratosphere.  So essentially this whole project seems crazy and I’m officially now on pins and needles waiting for more to drop.

Being anonymous music aficionado, music professional or a sexy Pacha girl, there are two things you really should know about Matthew Hoag: meeting him in person is always fun - but joining him for the night clubbing could be a life changing experience. This vivid, warm, cheerful, friendly bon vivant isn’t just one of those guys who want to play music. He’s spent years to explore the technical and business aspect of it and he’s always intrigued with the combinations of different art forms that full it. Recently he has came to the conclusion, that no matter what, club life is nothing if not expression of artistic mind made in sincere human interactions, so he’ll be focusing on that with his new initiative Dice Man in the years to come.

Matthew’s creativity provides the best results in the sun, salty water and all year long summer environment. Or in his own words: "I am Mediterranean by breed and Latino by soul. I am a passionate guy." He experienced his first club night as a 12 years old boy and instantly fell in love with the concept of spreading the positive vibe among people with the music. His passion for warm tech-house has taken him to a non-stop around the globe journey, performing in countries such as Brazil (Experience Festival), Peru, Mexico, Colombia, Serbia, Greece, Austria, Germany, Belgium (I Love Techno) Luxembourg, USA (WMC), UK, France Poland, Czech Republic, Croatia, Italy, Macedonia as well as his favourite place to be - Ibiza.

“I was born and raised in a pocket sized Slovenia and lived for a while in a cosmopolitan New York, but nothing beats Ibiza. Here it really feels like home. Everything’s perfect: I like the language, food, the warmth of this open minded people, beautiful nature, rich nightlife, here’s no taboos in sex or the way people live and act. Ibiza is the greatest club culture Mecca in the World. And it’s the only place where, no matter how big the whole industry, music as an art form still matters. Here, people really appreciate creativity and artists and all hedonism aside they still share the right values. 

Matthew spent the last two years on road with his fellow countryman Umek as his tour manager and warm up deejay. "It was a once in a lifetime experience. I’ve learnt a lot, especially about the business aspect of music and club culture, got to know many interesting people and seen some amazing places. But on this account I’ve neglected the art in my music, especially the production." So he returned into the studio, got back to the drawing board and started working on the fresh output that already shows some results. "In the music I’m looking for the peace and tranquility. In the past I’ve allowed to myself too many compromises as an artist. Although I’m a tech-house deejay and I can adapt to both genres, techno or house, I’ve neglected the warm, organic, vocal sound. At some point my sets became too aggressive, so I decided to step of the train, gather my thoughts and start all over again."

Being less and less intrigued by the business aspect of the music Matthew focuses on art and people. His Lovable Fairy Tale project is a unique open source organization, which includes a label of the same name but is mainly operating as an inter-artists networking platform. "I don’t want to constrain the collaborating artists in any way, artists need freedom to express themselves, but especially less experienced ones need a little bit of help or a small push along the way and that’s what the Dice Man is all about - socializing and sharing ideas.
