"Ignite the Spark" is the lyric I hear being sung at the end of the chorus of this song.  

I could be wrong--and that would make an already confusing Interbay track completely unfathomable.  

And yet, it still, somehow, works.  (Though it probably doesn't sound anything like you might think it would, just based on the title--or the thumbnail image.  Probably.)

So what we have here is just your average low bpm color bass with folk guitars, jazz keys, synthpop squelches, NASA samples, female vocals that may be the very definition of what I mean when I describe Interbay as making "mutant pop."

Color bass is meant to be uptempo--around 150bpm.  I slowed it down to 98bpm and surrounded it with decidedly uncolor bass elements, to create a hodge podge that blends the cool and the chaotic--which, if you would press me for a theme, reminds me of the modern world...which seems to be safe and controlled, but you get the idea that a careless match or an improperly maintained powerline could turn the whole place into a powder keg.

It could all burn, but for now, it all seems beautiful.  A treasure.  Golden.

Does that resonate with you?  No?  That's ok.  I'm not trying to force you to think like I do (heaven forbid!  I wouldn't wish this on anyone.)  

Typically I save the "pretty ones" for Sundays--that's not a promise, just a trend I've noticed.  But this felt very much like Thursday to me, so you're getting it on a Thursday.

There's new Interbay dropping here on SoundCloud every day (so far--for over 550 consecutive days!  That's probably too much, and yet...the streak continues!)  I don't monetize anything Interbay does (though I could certainly use some extra duckets--this is Black Friday month and all of the music making stuff is enticing me with deep discounts and sales! It's almost the weekend before a major holiday (at least for those of us in the States), so consider this a little bit of chill before the madness.  (Though, this is already slightly mad!)
