Music From Memory/ NTS/ Rhythm Section

Contours is the project of musician, producer and DJ Tom Burford. Based in Manchester, Contours’ sound explores the spaces, rhythms and textures that sit between House, Jazz, Latin, broken-beat and Hip Hop. 

Having been exposed to an eclectic range of music from an early age, Contours DJ sets traverse a litany of sounds and influences. Growing up playing drums and percussion, Contours’ productions draw heavily upon this, incorporating rhythms from Africa and Latin America coupled with those more often heard spilling out of dark sweaty basement clubs. This fusion creates an infectious blend of the electronic and the organic, the live and the programmed. Samples, field recordings and live instrumentation all form part of Contours sound and approach, where building a groove is at the core of all his music. Contours sound has seen him find a home on London's Rhythm Section imprint alongside the likes of Al Dobson Jr, Henry Wu and Chaos in the CBD. 

Contours has since gone on to release music with labels including Tru Thoughts, Shall Not Fade, Fly high Society, On the Corner and Far out. His productions have received support from the likes of Alex Nut, Mr Scruff, Benji B, Moxie and Cottam. 

As well as his productions, Contours sound is channelled via two monthly radio shows on both NTS and Reform Radio where he touches upon music from all over the world.

For over a decade Habersham's tour schedule has included performances in major cities across North America and stops at renowned festivals such as San Francisco's Love Parade, the Detroit Electronic Music Festival [DEMF], Miami's Winter Music Conference, and South By South West [SXSW] in Austin, Texas. Globally from Australia to Canada, Mexico to Central and South America, Holland to Hungary, Turkey to Romania, Damon Fonooni's ability to hypnotize and devastate the world's highest profile clubs has left many hot, sweaty messes in his wake. 

The thirty year-old Damon Fonooni is showing no signs of slowing down. Headlining events and festivals alongside the world's most respected talents in Techno & House, including Telefon Tel Aviv, Cocoon's Minilogue, Maetrik aka Maceo Plex, Crosstown Rebel's Sub-Ann, Superfreq Mr. C, Drumcode's Tony Rohr, LTD400's Tim Xavier and Droid's Drumcell and Truncate, only strengthened his reputation for self-reinvention. 

As a composer, producer and audio engineer Fonooni's extensive discography of over 60 original releases and remixes has received accoladeas from clubbers and critics worldwide, garnering unprecedented reviews from media heavyweights BPM, DJ Mag, IDJ, Mixmag, Remix, Urb, 365Mag as well as winning the coveted Best Electronic Act from Atlanta's premier arts, culture and entertainment periodical The Creative Loafing. His works have been featured regularly on Sirius XM Radio, BBC Radio One, KissFM Worldwide, Australia's Triple J, and Radio Tilos in Hungary and licensed to over fifteen compilations including EQ's highly respected Balance series and both the Renaissance and Global Underground libraries.

We are a female duo with our ear to the ground in the local Australian scene, while also being involved with international musicians, producers and emcees to receive & spread the sounds of the underground.
 
Our vision is to change the quality of music heard by the local community in their cars, earphones and home speakers.

Within the activity development of the Fondation La Borie since 2002, the Jazz and World Music Department has been welcoming musicians and composers with a strong musical project, as well as generosity in musical exchange and throughout the building of their careers. The Label Laborie , created in 2006, continues this action by supporting these artists, giving them in that context an opportunity to bring out their best. Youth talents and consummate professionals from both French and international musical scenes meet today at Laborie to create a new entity, a particular tribe whose only whish is that you appreciate the qualities of a free artist.
