In 3 years DJ Nephil has taken Gravitational Waves into the contemporary dance music paradigm with tenacity. Nephil has built Gravitational Waves into a formidable entity and the culmination of this effort brings results with his latest EP. Here the label continues in powerful form with 6 cuts of raw metallic persuasion, enlisting veteran producers Nick Klein and Enrique as well as debuting new talents in Mike Tansella Jr. (featured on vocals in "No Sell Out") and the mysterious Berlin resident, Hannibal lll. Also featured is Unhuman, known for his production prowess on AMOK tapes, Instruments of Discipline, Veleno Viola and most recently Strange Therapy and Betek who has been featured on Rotterdam Electronix, Balans and Black Stripe Records.

Discos Del Quebranto, a sub-label from Brokntoys, will be dropping a 5 track split EP by Gil. Barte and LostSoundBytes on 18th February. A hypno-industrial release is divided into two parts featuring two strong and authentic characters. 
Gil. Barte is an artist who immerses the listeners into a deep hypnotic trance, while Lostsoundbytes attacks with a more aggressive approach of distorted rhythms and crazed anxious voices.

Another premiere features viscous melodies and vocals of Trenton Chase in a track called Narked, that belongs to V.A. Archives Du Coeur Domain compilation.

The compilation is the latest in the synth-heavy sludge down from Public System Recordings brought directly by the label’s boss Myn. It’s said that he invites a new cast of characters into the dungeon dance, and it’s completely true. Packed with dynamic, chugging, and forward thinking jams, compilation includes Narked, which is yet again a strong piece from Trenton Chase. Metallic and industrial elements bend along with vocal echoes, that create constant reverberation and the positive sound of fear.

The music of Mystics drags us into a thunderstorm of syncopated rhythmic elements and electrical atmospheres. We can feel the rain flowing on our skins, the wind that violently pierces our bodies: the breath is missing, the raindrops are internal. The tension is present in an almost perennial way throughout the duration of this EP - it's more like a therapy.
AFN001 represents a declaration of intent, perfectly executed by Mystics. Already from the first release you can understand, in fact, what the label sets out: to explore the most melancholic and emotional corners of electronic music. A companion and a friend, Undveld guides through a path of piercing heights and desolate, barren plains. Every peak of emotional distortion seems physical, each pulled string heartfelt and raw. The young Lithuanian artist has amassed an extensive discography of experimental electronic work released on offworldcolonies, Perfect Aesthetics, static motion including others, his talent in production marked by deeply sensitive compositions and dynamic structures. It is safe to assume that there is much discovery to be made on the artistic and personal journey with Undveld.

"Field recording, that cherished technique of electroacoustic artists, gets fresh conceptual treatment with “Eaves Drop” by Horaflora, one of the aliases used by Raub Roy (Oakland, CA). Using a Sennheiser AMBEO binaural headset, he collected a year’s worth of public and private footage, then collaged it with sparse, yet pointed, instrumentation. Straddling diarist and voyeur, Roy evokes and lingers upon questions about field recording in the context of surveillance capitalism—and the purposes of music made in its purview.

There’s kids’ playground babble. The artist striking a piano key on his porch, as a train sounds in the distance. Like rummaging through the NSA’s trash, these sounds are irrelevant to governments or corporations (for now), but fruitful for more generous listeners. The crow caws, the dog barks, the door creaks. And then a firecracker explodes, and you throw off your headphones as it seemed a real firecracker actually exploded just above your right temple.

The realistic yet aestheticized arrangement of sounds in space is where the dynamism of this album lies. There’s a moment of beautiful clarity when we hear a woman singing along to Jazmine Sullivan’s “Bust Your Windows.” Her voice, going along with the song that’s playing in her own headset, cuts through all the noise, making a poignant threat. But then she’s drowned out by some bureaucrat’s intercom as the album flows onward, each cataloged and collaged sound seamlessly shifting into the next arrangement.

Lines between composition and chance blur; the tapping on a snare, the languid strumming of strings could be read as a musician’s self-surveillance. The fact that these are recordings from the Bay Area, where he lives, is not coincidental. Such methods are at the heart of big tech’s empire, and though “Eavesdrop” is not explicitly confrontational regarding such concerns, the album does tap the sense that we, as privacy erodes and mutates, are becoming voyeurs of our own lives."

ISHAM KOUIDRI “ALL I SEE IS BLUE” (ENXPL03)

Paris based artist Isham Kouidri presents his debut release “All I See Is Blue” for the Enmossed and Psychic Liberation collaboration series. On “All I See Is Blue”, the artist extrapolates a sonic environment from a single piano loop. As the recording progresses through it’s respective acts, A side “Through The Window” and B side “Now He’s Gone”, tension and the sublime interplay compositionally. Isham Kouidri uses his time on “All I See Is Blue” to allow for his process to subvert the reverie he has created, but the light is always right around the bend.
