From the beautiful island of Manus, Bernard Taleh, better known as DJ COVID, emerged as a vibrant figure in the music industry during the global pandemic. His journey began with self-taught skills acquired through YouTube tutorials while studying music at Manus Secondary School.

During the lockdown, DJ COVID creatively channeled the challenges of the pandemic into compelling electronic beats that raised awareness and connected people. His tracks, resonating with the spirit of resilience, quickly gained recognition, making him a celebrated name in Papua New Guinea’s music scene.

Currently based in Port Moresby, DJ COVID is one of the resident DJs at the renowned Cosmopolitan Nightclub. He began his DJ career in 2019, working with Oktagon Entertainment, before briefly transitioning to carpentry. However, his passion for music led him to enter the Cosmopolitan's DJ competition in 2021. This opportunity, sponsored by Coca-Cola’s high-energy drink Bu, launched his professional career as one of the club’s top DJs.

DJ COVID's talent and enigmatic persona have also earned him features in magazines and high-profile gigs. With his eclectic style, he masterfully mixes RnB, hip hop, Afro, Moombahton, EDM, etc and delivering electrifying sets that captivate any audience.
