Luke Bond feat Roxanne Emery - On Fire (Aly & Fila Remix) (OUT NOW)

So here's my remix to Light's And Thunder. 

There's many things about this remix.
I brought in a bunch of the older Ton!c sounds but every single lead you hear in the drop (except the sawtooth dutch lead and the krewella vocal) are all my voice. So the process of the sound design was a bit longer than usual. There's another big room drop with a progressive feel to it. I also recorded myself clapping, and doing a couple other loops you'll hear in the full track. 

Now the ending was what i was excited to do. 
I've always loved reggae, and ive been wanting to add it to some of my tracks.
So i picked up my guitar, put together some drum samples i recorded, added some more of my vocals recorded on my iphone, whipped up a vintage sounding organ, brought in the melody i used for the progressive drop with a lead that was also created with my voice, and tried to make the whole piece sound like an actual reggae band. The trick was blending it all smoothly and come together so it works. So i hope you guys dig it!

also, the reggae doesn't come in that soon, there's a full minute outro before that comes in, this was just an edit i did for preview.

I checked my phone and realized that, that night was the 1 year anniversary of when they first revealed the ID that became Nubia. I told Fadi and he, knowing how much I love their collaboration with Ferry Tayle, asked Ferry, who was standing in the back, to play his intro mix of Nubia for me at FSOE400USA. Drove up to San Jose right after their ExchangeLA show (a 4.5 hour drive) and was ECSTATIC that Ferry followed up on his promise at FSOE. So appreciative of that fact, no words can describe that moment. Thank you Fadi & Ferry for this amazing track, and thank you Ferry for this amazing mashup!

أكتب إليكِ في هذه الليلة التي أدركت فيها ما كان يشعر به جاك بريفير في ليلة باريسية بائسة، عن أن ترتدي المدن البقع الزرقاء، لأن شخصا تعيسًا لا زال يحترق مع أنه أحرق كل شيء، في سبيل تتبع النجمة ولم يهمه حظوطه غير المدرجة على قائمة يومه، والحديث هنا عن الحظوظ الجيدة، كل ما في القائمة حظوظ سيئة وعليه أن يختار من أقلها سوءً، والتي يكتشف في كل مرة يكون فيها مضطرًا للاختيار، أن خياره كان الأكثر سوءً، لكن عليه أن يختار، أن يمضي وهو قلق، أن يدحش فوهة المسدس بين شفتاه، روليت هذه الحياة، روليت.
‏ملقى على مرتبة السرير، كومة من عظام وخيبات، ساندًا رأسه على مخدة مبللة من جهتاها، هي ليلة عصيبة. على جوانب السرير تصطف أحزانه وانكساراته وخساراته وكل الأشياء السيئة التي حصلت له، والأشياء الجيدة بدايتها، والتي لزامًا عليها كما تعلمين أن تنتهي بشكل سيء. أُم البدايات أُم النهايات، هذه شتيمة مناسبة وجيدة في كل سياقاتها يا درويش. وسط كل ذلك يحاول الكتابة لكِ، ليقول كلامًا كثيرًا، له رائحة النبيذ المعتق في قلبه، ولكنه خائف. لكن ها هو يرسل إليكِ ليقول أنه لا يكتب لكِ لأنه خائف. أترين كم يبدو الأمر مثير للشفقة؟
‏لا أعلم إن كان قد أخبرك من قبل أنه في اللحظات التي ترتجف فيها أطرافه خوفًا أو حزنًا، كل ما يجيء في باله أنتِ، ولا تسأليه عن السبب، أنا متيقن أنه لا يملك جوابًا ولا يعلم شيئًا عن ذلك.
‏سيحاول أن يلملم ما بقي من شظايا جسده المتفجر، سيجمع أشلائه وعظائمه، خيباته ويضعها في وعاء بلاستيكي مملوء بالماء البارد، لكن من تلك الأنامل التي ستملك جرأة حمل بقايا قلبٍ مهشم لتضعها في وعاء بلاستيكي مملوء بالماء البارد؟ ماذا لو أعادوا تلك القطعة المتبقية إلى ما كانت عليه بين الأضلع، لو كنتُ مكانه، كنت سأمضغ تلك القطعة، ألا يقولون "ألقمني قلبه"؟، قلبه الذي سحله المدرجين على قائمة المغادرين، من الميناء المكتظة أرصفتها. أعلم كم سيبدو كل ذلك بائس، أنا شخصياً لا أتحمل مسؤولية أي كلمة كتبت هنا، إن كان هناك من يستحق اللوم، فهي العاهرة الحياة، ولكن تعلمين جيدًا أن هذه العاهرة (مع كامل احترامي وحبي للعاهرين والعاهرات) لن تعبأ بكل هذه السخافات. هذه اللغة هي الوحيدة التي تعبأ، بالمساكين أبناء الهواء المر.

OceanLab’s ‘On A Good Day’ originally featured on the 2008 LP ‘Sirens Of The Sea’, an album that reached #1 in the US iTunes dance chart, and was lauded in respected publications such as Mixmag and DJ Magazine. 

‘On A Good Day’ remained a firm favourite in the sets of Above &amp; Beyond – eventually receiving another lease of life when its vocals were married with Gareth Emery’s ‘Metropolis’ as a DJ bootleg by Hungarian duo Myon &amp; Shane 54.

After picking up mainstream radio support from Radio 1, ‘On A Good Day (Metropolis)’ is now being released alongside a drum &amp; bass rework from scene stalwarts J Majik and Wickaman (known for their uplifting, club-smashing remix of Deadmau5’s chart hit ‘I Remember’), which has already been hammered by Andy C, Chrissy Chris (1 Xtra), Radio 1’s Grooverider, Hype, Judge Jules and Adam F. A previously unreleased acoustic version will feature as iTunes exclusive track.

Tapping into the vocal’s narrative of triumph over adversity, the official music video centres on the story of Detroit’s Georgia Street Community Collective, and their drive to regenerate the derelict buildings and industrial graveyards of Detroit and transform them into urban farms and community gardens.
