The lovely Vernon Kay gave me a namecheck and mentioned the book on his BBC Radio 2 morning show last Monday after we bumped into each other at Wilderness Festival. I can't believe I haven't posted about it already on my website but my book 'Welcome To The Club' is now in production - I don't know how it feels to you but to me, the book process is looooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnggggggg I can tell you but EXCITING as in mega. People are also saying nice things about it behind the scenes so I'm feeling good about having written every word myself. Regardless, this was just a lovely moment.

On EP 13 of the Here&There podcast, I am in conversation with Dam Swindle. 

It was in 2011 that Dutch pair Lars Dales and Maarten Smeets quickly broke through in the electronic music scene. Since then they have become known for their widescreen approach to making and playing club ready grooves. From deep to disco, tech to soul, they join the dots between the past and the present with their own sense of storytelling and do so in clubs around the world, as well as in their own studio.

House might be the root of the Dam Swindle sound, but it takes nourishment from a much wider world of music!

I am so excited to be hosting them in ATL on 5/16/24 and am even more excited to have gotten the chance to sit down with them prior to the event to hear their story!

Over a 30-year career, she has scaled the heights of dance music fame and hedonism playing disco, house and techno to huge crowds and in cool underground basements. She is a dj who is renowned for consistently ‘smashing’ every set she plays. One of two women to have a residency at the Hacienda in its heyday, she went on to have residencies at Heaven and Ministry of Sound, before successful stints in Paris and Ibiza. She has a keen talent for reinvention and replicating excellence. She has monthly radio shows with Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM, Reform Radio and a Global Residency show produced in collaboration with The Radio Department that is syndicated to stations around the world. on 6 Music she has been standing in for Afrodeutsche on The People's Party, Amy Lame's morning show and Craig Charles on 6 Music.
