'A welcome returnee to Proton Music, Matter has a host of powerful original and remix material to his name, both under solo and collaborative guises, making him a firm favourite with the label faithful. Through his "Pronoia" and "We Are Dust" EPs, the Australian shone a light on his creative talent in 2016 and 2017, while collaborations with fellow Melbourne resident, GMJ, have seen the duo light up the label with a trio of original EPs. Remixes of Dousk, Embliss and Michael A have shone a different light on Matter's talent as he now returns with a typically impressive sound, characterised by a whip-cracking kick and rolling groove. A trademark bassline full of power and emotion muscles its way across the low end as subtle melodic touches hint at elements from Molosh's original. A glorious progression, layered with textured pads, form the perfect foundation for the piano so redolent in the original to take its rightful place at the centre, as arpeggios from the Matter arsenal wax and wane across the top. Building to a rousing crescendo at the mid-point the sequence hits its stride again in the third movement to incredible effect.'

Returning to Meanwhile once more, Alex O’Rion delivers a stunning new double with the twin-tracker “Tunnel / Blackout”.

A regular on GMJ & Matter’s Beatport top 10 Progressive House imprint, Alex O’Rion has provided a score of production credits to Meanwhile. Among them, May 2021’s “Echium” and August 2022’s “Pluvia / Solis / Sericum” stand out as blue-chip original offerings with remixes for Rich Curtis, Jiminy Hop and GMJ & Matter themselves, adding to an increasingly successful portfolio.

The opener, “Tunnel” is a driving rhythmic monster that revels in a rapid-fire percussive groove, booming kick and rolling bassline sequence. Pitching slightly as it evolves, the low-end supplies subtle melodic variation before a chorus of motifs, cadenced stabs and rippling arpeggio creates a sumptuous combination. Flowing freeform melodies emerge in the second movement and into the breakdown providing the perfect pause for breath before a rasping bassline sequence increases in intensity, heralding the return of a pounding third movement where all elements combine to devastating effect.

The deeper, darker techier flavours of “Blackout” manifest themselves with a clicking and popping top-line arrangement while a chorus of effects and cone-melting bass groove supply simmering energy. As the track develops, a huge analogue synth swell appears as it pans the left-right spectrum in stereo unison. A pitched-down vocal effect adds an eerie feel at the breakdown as do the copious amounts of delay and reverb on the liberally sprinkled effects. Before long they are once again joined by the oppressive bassline dominance and intelligently worked melodic phrasing that emerges out of the effect-laden aural collage.

A recurring talent with an endless supply of sonic bombs, the spotlight falls on Alex O’Rion as he emerges from the “Tunnel / Blackout”.

André Moret returns to the label with a debut full release - Drift Whispers EP.  

Joining the family with the excellent Sprout Achievements Vol 1, André continues to impress since breaking onto the global progressive scene in 2018. Now signed to Warung, The Soundgarden, and UV, among others, his silky smooth, melodic sound has won him an army of high-profile fans.   Opening with title track, ‘Drift Whispers’, its quickly obvious why he’s riding the crest of a wave right now. Vibey beats, a rubbery bass line and earworm arps hypnotise you with a huge smile and infectious joy. Acid in the break adds new dimensions before the powerful second half thunders to the finish.   On the flip side, ‘Dreamer’ reveals André’s more thoughtful side. Deeper and more considered, the sonics paint a vivid, if reflective, image underpinned by thumping low end and sparse, snappy percussion. Perfect for those sunrise moments when the floor is completely spellbound and patiently waiting for the first rays of daylight to pour into the club.

He has been earmarked by Markus Schulz as one of the key rising players in the trance scene for 2017, and Dave Neven embarks on his most important composition to date; marking his first vocal piece in the process, titled Breathing Again. 

Following a string of impressive and heavily supported instrumental productions such as Drifter, Counter Strike and Darkside, Neven sought a collaborative touch from vocalist and fellow Southern California resident Nuttalya, whose own career is on the ascent through her native Ukrainian tones. 

The elementary qualities of both fuse and yield a beautiful piece of vocal trance, and is one many Global DJ Broadcast listeners are already earmarking as their personal favorite through 2017 so far. A beautiful and inspiring story told through music, Breathing Again is an absolute essential for radio and the live environment.

A true labour of love, given his passion for discovery science and space and time, Ferry Corsten’s latest studio project ‘Blueprint’ has set him on course for his own discovery as a producer, artist and storyteller. Argentina is a country with a celebrated progressive house heritage. One of the key figures at the inception of the movement was Marcelo Vasami. First hitting the scene in 2005, the Buenos Aires-based artist quickly became one of the genre's most recognizable names, eventually showcasing his music on Sudbeat and Hope Recordings. He continues to be one of his country's most popular DJs, having shared the stage with Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy J and Replug label boss Cid Inc. Having debuted on Replug in 2011, Marcelo now makes a long overdue return with a brand new EP entitled 'A Fantastic Fear Of Everything'.

Original music from Marcelo has been scarce as of late, with his last project (a collaboration with fellow countryman Nicko Izzo) being released well over a year ago on Nick Warren's Hope Recordings. 'A Fantastic Fear Of Everything' couldn't arrive with more anticipation and points to being the Argentine's career best work.  Entrancing soundscapes combined with a sub heavy groove and strong rhythmic elements set the piece in motion. Fading to prominence, a tasteful arp naturally evolves, allowing you to get lost in a sea of cosmic vibrations. Chilling moods resonate at the core of the centrepiece, building slowly with charismatic charm, before a rush of percussion sparks a powerful drop and seductive finale.

Returning once again to his esteemed imprint is Henri Hurtig aka Cid Inc, who provides the lone interpretation of 'A Fantastic Fear Of Everything'. An eventful summer saw the Finnish artist with EPs on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music and Replug Records, the latter of which is still enjoying time in Beatport's progressive house chart, now four months after its release. Cid Inc's vivid imagination and uncanny sense of club dynamics brings 'A Fantastic Fear Of Everything' even closer to a peak time dance floor. The ebb and flow of its energy is engaging, as a rolling full bodied groove, redemptive rhythms and avant-garde sci-fi textures unite in perfect harmony for this synth-driven scorcher. Already a highlight in Cid Inc's recent sets across the world, it's now set to be one of the biggest and most sought after progressive house tracks as 2017 winds to a close. 

The companion piece 'Plot' showcases a deeper, darker side of Marcelo's studio repertoire. Quirky, tough and a touch subversive it's an interesting contrast in mood and design. Primed for dance floor destruction, its funked-up progressive attitude is powerful with enticing strokes, buzzing effects and ghostly vocals adding their own melancholic touch. It perfectly completes the release which now sits as Marcelo's most accomplished work to date.
