For Elcias De Freitas there has never been a greater passion than Music. Originally taking inspiration from Italo Disco he taught himself to play music when he was just 12 years old. Elcias was able to study music at school which meant that he could broaden his knowledge and expand on his creativity. It was at this time he started to produce music using a Commodore Amiga. 

Being able to play and produce music just wasn’t enough and at the age of 15 Elcias taught himself to DJ. The thought that he could make a track and then play it out was everything. He would hear something and want to create it in his own way and that’s exactly what he did. Elcias became a regular DJ at many club nights and parties on the Island of Jersey. 
Fast forward to 2007 and Elcias moved to London to study music technology at The Recording Workshop Studio. The time spent working in a professional studio was invaluable and he was able to learn many new skills.

In 2010, along with long term production partner and friend Michael Hooker, Elcias set up Re:Sound Records. Re:Sound is a digital record label with a concept to only sign music that has been fully completed by the artist. The label has been very successful and this meant that Elcias could gain experience in another aspect of music.

To date, Elcias has DJed many events and clubs such as Ministry of Sound in London. Under the pseudonyms - De Freitas, JE2, Hooker & De Freitas and Of Sound Mind, Elcias has music signed to - Tretmuehle, Southside Recordings, Proud Sound, Groove Digital, Fullfill LLC, Whartone Records, Clubbed Up Recordings, Gash Digital, Kitschy Records, Beneath Records and Re:Sound. 
Elcias has recently started a mastering service for other artists. He has also been contracted to create music for an advertising agency. He is now in demand and splits his time between several projects but one thing remains the same - his passion and love for music are still paramount in everything he does.
