Systematic Session #45 - Tommie Sunshine [pre-'89 Chicago Acid House mix]

A studio mix recorded in anticipation for a summer event in Ibiza which unfortunately I'm now not going to be attending due to last minute cancellation. 

LKZ - 87-89 Acid House (the OMG they couldn't afford a Monarch flight mix!)

A re-edit we made as a tribute to the late Godfather Of House Music Frankie Knuckles. As Frankie himself stated in interviews the label owners of this track never properly accounted to him so with that in mind we have decided to give this away for free in his memory.

Me and Jasper had a wee (big) soiree at our gaff after the Numbers Boiler Room the other week and hit the record button whilst we were playing some tunes for a couple of hours.

We do this quite a lot when we're inebriated and never end up sharing the results, but we liked this one.

It's comes close to resembling a smooth House and Techno builder until I get carried away with the last tune which is kinda distorted. That's half down to the original Bill Withers recording and half down to the fact that by this time in the morning we were pretty far gone, the volume was up at 11 and we were dancing about the joint ready to go to the pub again. A liberal use of the high pass filter also reflects this.

It's been a while but finally Jack and I got together to record another live mix at home in Glasgow.

Just like the first one (still available here: https://soundcloud.com/jackmaster/jackmaster-jasper-james-live-from-mitchell-street-1) we recorded it on a whim, bored out of our nut after a long weekend of gigs and a healthy bout of insomnia.

We didn't have a cool-guy DJ image to use this time so here's some old passport photos we found in the studio of Jack looking about 15 and me pushing 30.
