Soreab debuts on Avian.
Dario Picchi, whose repertoire includes forays into Dancehall, Bass Music and genres less easily classified, alongside a spate of intriguing collaborations, keeps things sparse on Sensitivity 6.0. The six track EP offers up idiosyncratic takes on IDM, Techno and Ambient music with a focus on intricate sound design, showcasing the Baroque Sunburst label head’s admirable versatility as a producer.
Brazen opener Squirrel Stampede might surprise listeners expecting a more delicate approach from the EP title. Neatly layered and economic in its execution, it’s a forceful slice of modern Techno. Meditative follow up Trub marries a thick, undulating percussion line with a saccharine melody. Loose synths emerge sporadically from the sonic periphery, breaking up the rolling drum pattern to create a cinematic atmosphere. Closing out the A side is Giale Draws, an intriguing beatless piece with nods to both vintage Musique concrète and more contemporary compositions from the electronic music leftfield.
On the B side, Soreab ups the tempo and goes fathoms deep with the cavernous Dust Eater. Landing somewhere between Autonomic Drum & Bass and Dub Techno, it sets the tone for the dense, atmospheric march of Insomnias that follows. Letting well-worked drums lead the recording, Picchi introduces Rhodes and a low-sunk synth flourish to create a crisp, hazy atmosphere. Rite closes the EP, a glistening Ambient recording with subtle percussive motifs and delayed vocals that sit atop hypnotic pads – a wide-open, ethereal closing statement.

Maria aka Whiplash, is a German born, Greek DJ and resident of OSM Tapes collective in Thessaloniki for the past few years.  Heavily influenced by the early 80s EBM and Acid House movement, Whiplash’s sets are known for their genre bending. Whether it’s fusing Industrial leaning textures with Detroit flavoured tracks, or punchy EBM with more straightforward Techno, melancholic 90’s Trip-hop synths with newer Dark Wave and Post Punk elements.

Romphea is a forward-thinking DJ and producer hailing from Athens, Greece. He has been co-running FERMA record label and holds residency on the Fade Radio ΔΙΑΔΙΚΤΥΑΚΗ ΑΠΑΤΗ radio show. His music is a compelling exploration of rhythm and space, constantly evolving to captivate the listener through cutting-edge sound. Known for his focus on unconventional rhythms and offbeat soundscapes, he combines broken beats and hard-hitting basslines with experimental elements and eerie vocal stabs, creating a unique fusion of intensity and subtlety. Inspired by downshifting cyberpunk originating from Chornobyl, the album Anomaly from Kyiv native Lostlojic is a true artifact in electronic music: firstly, it is a unique combination of trance synthesizers with deep smoky dubstep, interspersed with the sounds of nature from the Carpathian Mountains, and echoes of the cultural heritage of folk songs. Spatial sounds penetrate the secret places of your brain in a completely natural way, like cordyceps, creating unexpected neural connections. Secondly - it's a unique creative collaboration between a photographer Julia Coda, a tattoo artist Anton Kresan - master of dark tribal genre, musicians Lostlojic with Tadan on the remix - who’s tactile sounds will reward the receptors of the attentive listener with a dose of dopamine, technologies of the fleeting past and nature. We invite you on a journey through textures!
