If you’re looking to enhance the soundtrack to your evening with a slow-and-steady helping of house music, look no further than New England’s own DJ Ra. Hailing from the outskirts of Boston, DJ Ra boasts two decades of experience behind the decks. He is revered for his consistency both in his musical programming as well as the club nights and live streams he orchestrates. Whatever the occasion, you can be confident DJ Ra will wield the best cuts from his vast musical library to keep things moving and grooving.
DJ Ra’s sets explore the intersection of house, techno and progressive. Minor-key melodies take the forefront in his selections, many of which are laden with layers of synths and powerful, feel-good breakdowns. Sparse vocal chants and occasional tribal drums add further texture to DJ Ra’s sonic journeys, which work particularly within the context of a proper afterhours. The four-on-the-floor rhythms are woven together through DJ Ra’s seamless blends, which respect the integrity of the music itself while guiding the listener to his destination. Stick around long enough and you may be surprised with a helping of acid, a trance arpeggio, even the motif of a Dirtybird-style track.
The list of clubs whose decks DJ Ra has graced is plentiful. After cutting his teeth in humble restaurants and sports bars in the early 2000s, DJ Ra soon graduated to Rise and Therapy, two institutions respective to Boston and Providence. Often performing alongside DJ Aktiv under the name Neovision, DJ Ra opened for the likes of Desyn Masiello, Emjae, Deka, and Midas at these venues. The past decade has witnessed DJ Ra expand his resume with appearances at Avalon (Boston), House of Blues (Boston), The Phoenix Landing (Cambridge), Red Door (Portsmouth), Pulse (Providence), Sky Lounge (Nashua), and UnchARTed (Lowell). DJ Ra currently resides as a regular guest at The Keep (Lowell). He has also played occasional gigs outside New England as well as private parties hosted by Tradecraft and Exit.
In addition to his club presence, DJ Ra commands a similar presence online. His Soundcloud page hosts dozens of mixes, recorded both at home and live, with a cumulative play count well in the thousands. DJ Ra’s mixes have been featured on Sur Frisky Radio, Tradecraft, Offbeat Radio, Proton and Exit. In 2017 DJ Ra launched Dragonfly Recordings, an outlet for local artists to showcase their DJ skills via Facebook livestream. Also, as a producer, DJ Ra has released original works on labels such as Tulipa and Opto Digital. 
With frequent local gigs, guest mix appearances and his residency at The Keep, there is no sign of DJ Ra slowing down any time soon. Even with a day job and family commitments, DJ Ra makes plenty of time to share his passion for music with as many people as possible. His trusted and timeless style of execution is a force to be reckoned with.
