I purchased fixer upper store front/two story building in the magical neighborhood of Hollygrove in New Orleans, Louisiana. The idea is to convert the bottom flat into a minority woman owned high end concept coffee house that welcomes everyone but please, come with a young heart and an opened mind ;D Here you will be exposed to coffees from around the world, exotic coffees and healthy concoctions to hydrate and nourish your bodies, and original coffee recipes like my Frothy Vegan Coconut Iced Coffee. You will also find a plain old cup of delicious java. My coffee house will also be dedicated to promoting local artist and the space will also be donate for non-profit events that are focused on social justice and the advancement of literacy. And yes, there will always be lots of great music playing -- sometimes even live acoustic music. 

I am a Nichiren Buddhist and I trust that the universe will provide what I need at the right time. Right now I don't have $50K to renovate the downstairs but because I am a Bodhisattva of the earth, I am opening this Global Coffee House to reach the coffee/music lovers all around the universe. You see, BOOM! Hahahahahahah!!! The Hollygrove Cafe is now open for business 24/7!! :D One day I will open the physical Hollygrove Cafe, and I hope that you will come hang out with my friends, my dog and I but as of now, the The Global Hollygrove Cafe is OPEN for business right here on the world wide web!! <3

FEX Foreign Exchange is a collective, music label and party-rocking outfit exploring music culture in our beloved Chicago & beyond. From the rich histories of our neighborhoods to our pride in having visitors witness the realness, Chicago is among the finest & most diverse cities in the world. We like it that way and this is why we do this.

Years ago we took the concept of Chicago internationalism and thought to push & explore the music which represents our collective backgrounds. Through music we can break borders, explore our identities, and of course rock the dance floor.

While difficult in this day & age of top 40 pop and what sells, we strive for culturally aware music that explores undercurrents while respecting humanity. Diverse sounds for diverse peoples. We gets down, we lift up.

We do it through parties and performances, mixtapes & music productions, arts & media. We do it with traditional “world” music (Global Roots), new musicultural/political fusions (Nu Whirled) and heavy hitting, club-friendly (Transnational Bass) sounds. And we’ll continue to bring it heavier.

There’s lots of names for this movement, let’s be in conversation through music.
