Matsuri Digital is pleased to announce a debut solo EP by an artist featured collaboratively on our label before TAO with his brilliant two-track Space Era EP. 
　
This great artist is one half of the Japanese duo TAO &amp; NAGA, who we heard in their great single Higo to Goa and then with their explosive track Spirit Bomb on DJ Solitare's compilation Beyond Expectation. Now he returns with two solo tracks of equal power but very different styles.
　
The title track Space Era features appropriately otherworldly sounds with evocative melodic and harmonic languages, and it has a driving uplifting character. Take No Ne, on the other hand, is a slower, darker, groovier number with tribal voices and rhythmic elements fused with mystical sounds and a deep atmosphere. Both are amazingly powerful, spanning the range of the best psychedelic dance music that was at the root of this scene in the 90s.

Tao - Space Era

It has been one year since me and @mascalito dropped our first EP together. So I figured it is time to bring it properly to SoundCloud. The mini mix was here before but the full tracks were only on Bandcamp and the streaming platforms. That changes now. I will be releasing one full track every two weeks. Make sure to follow so you do not miss them. This first one is one of my absolute favorites. Funky melodies, heavy groove, and that hypnotic loop that just grabs you. It builds and builds into a total catharsis moment. Made for stomping straight out of the Matrix. Or maybe back in. The full EP is already available for download on Bandcamp. In 1996 I heard Psychedelic Trance and chose the path of being a psy-trance musician and DJ. I make and play music inspired by the environments where I have lived, and crafted for the parties that I have played at around the world. Growing up in Northern California placed me amongst incredibly diverse music scenes. My music is formed from all of my music tastes and is created for fun dance floor moments. I've played at events big and small throughout North America, Mexico, Japan, and Europe with many psy artist from around the world. Performing live and Dj sets at events such as Boom Festival 08', Burning Man, the Ultra Music Festival, SF Love Fest, and countless more indoor and outdoor parties and festivals.
