SUMMARY: Carmichael contends that the Black American should consider himself an African rather than an American, and feels that change in the United States can only be brought about by a socialist revolution, since the capitalist system is basically corrupt.

                        October 12, 1973 - 'Blacks must recognize history' activist says.
